Yes that one, only used this function once, and seen it only on a few servers.

What you want to do is limiting smurf accounts but what you are doing is limiting free accounts because they didn't paid the game ... That has no sensea and unfair for us / them

If you get rid of insults, why is there no muting vote ?
There is cheaters on every games and I guess it's difficult for editors to block them. I recently saw a post about cheaters in Valve games and the cheat program was blocked many years after they discovered it. They never penalized free accounts.

Anyway, the game is dying so keep screwing up the game.

Elite is a competitive gamemode so it's stupid to limit skilled players (I don't talk about me) because they have not paid the game...

You totally forget that a free game is (or was? Officials can certainly say) entry criterium for e-sports.
And it is not by limiting free accounts that there will not be silly or bad players with paid accounts anymore

Free players can't expect to have full access (content and features) for free on a paid game, that's logical.

There is more paid games in eSport than free ones (Starcraft (1/2), CS:GO, CoD, Street Fighter, Rainbow Six, Rocket League and more) . It can help but it's not the main criterium to be an eSport (played) game (at least today).

It'll limit the number of unfriendly players at high level (because they'll have to buy the game again to play at high level if they got banned for misbehaviour/cheat)

I think, you can limit everything you want but limiting something that affect the rank-level or gameplay of a free player is something that no editors should do.

I'm reading the answers of everyone, I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I don't reproach the fact that you are doing something to improve Elite neither the fact that a demo put limits. I only reproach the fact that your modification affect the rank of a player. It's like you are selling the player rank...

The ladder system is here to determine the best players and doing this modification goes against the ladder concept.

You have never limited the rank of TrackMania Nations players so why doing that for Elite ?
TrackMania Nations ForEver is a demo ? no ?

I think I understand your point TheBigMiike and I kinda agree with you.
Ofc limmiting the ladder for demo accounts doesn't solve the problem totally. Ppl can still insult on their main accounts and they will still be Smurf accounts, but let me quote myself:

First of all players create their "Smurf-accounts" to flame and insult on the elite mm 100k. If they know they can't even join there with their "smurfs" anymore, they wouldn't even create them in the first place.

I'm sure this would reduce the number of smurf accounts (and that is what this topic was about in the first place).
Still it won't be the best decission imo. I agree with a mute function way more now.
