Re: MP4.1 no sound.
I have a Z97A, a 4790k, and a gtx 1080. I have tried outputting to my GPU audio and it doesn't make a difference. It always just fails while loading openAL, as seen in the error logs posted before
Re: MP4.1 no sound.
I just reinstalled Maniaplanet after two years. I had the same problem. I tried install / reinstall, nothing worked.
But FINALLY today I managed to get all sound from maniaplanet to work.
I just installed the windows installer from the official openal website.
https://www.openal.org/
Hope that can help someone

Re: MP4.1 no sound.
Didn't solve the problem for me, sadly.
I noticed that davidknag's Z97A uses the same Realtek 1150 chip as my Z170A does, maybe that's related?

Re: MP4.1 no sound.
Could you try DxDiag and tell what it says as audio device?

Re: MP4.1 no sound.
The information detected shows not much, either the sound chip is really poor, or not installed properly.
Check in the device manager if there are "unknown devices".
you should also check if there is an update for your audio chip, perhaps even some audio suite from Realtek.

Re: MP4.1 no sound.
No unknown devices here
I noticed that the drivers from the Realtek website were a tad old (2 years
) and installed some brand new ones, recommended for my motherboard by MSI.
Didn't add any new information except for the version number bump, so I'll go with "the sound chip is really poor" (it is an onboard chip after all):
Something (maybe?) of note in the Maniaplanet logs:
The first time running Maniaplanet after installing the new drivers left a
in the log, followed by the failed asserts I've already posted (see below as well). My headphones were plugged into the line-out/speakers, though.
I plugged them into the 2nd output, and sure enough Maniaplanet complained about it as well, same message but Speakers instead of 2nd input.
On subsequent tries, this line didn't appear and the log was back to the failed asserts:

Re: MP4.1 no sound.
I guess that the sound is working properly in any other game, right?
In the Launcher, when you go to the advanced configuration and select the Audio tab,
which devices can you select there?
Default would be what Windows is using at the moment.
And there should be your sound chip as well.
Normally Maniaplanet can work with any devices.
But if you have e.g. some music streaming app running, that might grab the audio device exclusively, and prevent Maniaplanet from using it.
After a reboot of your PC, close any application which is started automatically, and which is using sounds.
This can be a chat application, music streaming, video recording, what ever...

No Audio
Running Windows 10 64 bit
AMD ryzen 5 1600 on a MSI Tomahawk b350 32 GB Ram Gigabyte RTX 2060
using the soundcard built into the motherboard.
Installed the game from steam and then also installed the launcher from the download page. updated all files and drivers. Still no Audio in launcher or TrackMania 2 Canyon. What other info can I give?
