The whole Trackmania series has basically the same basic design: you can place various street blocks and other blocks in a raster, and drive inside the raster. Only the specific design changes from title to title.

Stadium was kept like Nations to keep the change easy and to have something all players recognize directly, also towards e-sports.

They certainly won't change the basic design and look & feel of Stadium.
But as Miss said, there will be many changes, more than you probably can see right now from these first images and videos.

I just hope Nadeo will add enough blocks and terraforming options to make stadium feel "less dead" than it looks for that first preview. For now we just have seen some roads on a flat green surface, like they could belong to anywhere else.

IMO the most "lively" TM ever made was Turbo. The game wasn't perfect for some reasons, (I'd say mostly for its lack of side features and evolution), but having catchy visuals and music makes the game feel less cold...

Well in that case it's a sequel, not a remake, so why not just call it TM Stadium 2?

We have to wait how they will call it for good.

I guess because of 2 reasons:

1) TM2Stadium already exists
2) Hylis said that he wants to re-invent Trackmania. That's why the skins were changed from scratch. It's a new image. A new fresh start for Trackmania.

it will be a new title for maniaplanet
or will it be an independent game outside of maniaplanet?

At the moment it looks like it will be a separate game, most likely based on an evolution of the Maniaplanet engine, but we don't know it for sure.
Please wait a little bit, in a few weeks we will see.
