Re: GEEX 2011 - USA TrackMania 2 Canyon Public LAN Tournamen
Had an idea I wanted to run by you Jeff - I started setting up a steam like many of the Starcraft, League of Legends etc. players run daily. I think it would be a cool way to introduce trackmania to a new audience. The quality is pretty solid and I can incorporate microphone as well as music into the stream. Now the big problem is getting some viewership; I could garner a few viewers on forums such as these by spamming the link but I don't think anyone will appreciate it and I'd like to target those who don't know about trackmania. I'm aware streamers can garner some sort of income from the stream through advertisements but this really isn't my intention at all (you have to have an insane viewership to even come close to the income of a normal minimum wage job). Do you think Ubisoft would have any desire/means to advertise something like this? I'm thinking TM2 is now in the running for next WCG, we just need enough votes to get in through and this could be a great way to make that happen. If you think this has any promise let me know and either you or I could contact Ubisoft with a proposal.

@macduffman: Go get 'em! Can't wait to see what happens.
@iceman: I'll talked with Ubisoft and they'd like to check out your idea... I'll get the three of us on an email thread and see what we can come up with. Looking forward to it!

I would hope so; we would need to make sure we get support and noticed by WCG's USA branch to get a sponsored entry into the event. This and the tournaments we're having are a good jumping-off point in doing so.iceman23 wrote:Had an idea I wanted to run by you Jeff - I started setting up a steam like many of the Starcraft, League of Legends etc. players run daily.
