^^

It was a blast... even missing the first 4 races whilst trying to solve the tracker app's problems. We're back though and we'll be working for next time, so results will be real-time, and everyone will know their standings at the end of the tournament without having to wait.

If you change your display name between now and the semi-finals, please coordinate with me a time to meet on my server and test the app with your new display name, so we avoid any other problems like this. I don't anticipate anymore problems, as I ran it with all of your display names from that night and it worked fine after fixing the defect.

Thanks all for your patience. Sorry we ran into that problem.

Good luck to all semi-finalists! Thanks for a great time. :pil

... Oh! And thanks to Macduffman and Anxiety for putting this together! I know how difficult it is to pull off a major tournament and I appreciate and applaud your efforts. We'll take what we've learned from the prelims and continue improving the future events!

Here are the groups for the semifinals on February 4th. These are organized using the "snake" method from the prelim rankings.

Semifinal 1 (Start 2:00 PM EST, 20:00 CET)
Laurens
Anxiety
Onio
MephistOMG
Dr. Rock
Demko
Exodeath
ThatOneGuy

Semifinal 2 (Start 5 PM EST, 23:00 CET)
Iceman
Supra
Besus
FrostBeule
Z3pp
Red
Nicknacknob
Marioman

Please note we have modified the rules for the semifinals. ONLY 5 tracks (change from 7) will be played, and the point limit per map is 31 (change from 41), since a finalist has to "win" to clinch the map victory.

Was that MacDuffman on the mic doing the main casting? Wasn't planning on watching the whole replay but you were was pretty impressive and always entertaining (not the easiest thing to do in trackmania)! Although, I think we helped a bit with some really close action :D . It's really interesting to see the different lines despite there being so many close races. I took a completely different line on that first map which was surprising to see. Also, is there any chance of getting the tracks earlier or are they still being developed? Would be nice to have a few weekends to train as I don't really get much time during the week with university and work.
