Re: Map Editor
1 map editor = 1 grid
you place things on this grid that match the enviro (dirt, snow, arena).
you can get those things to place in each enviro.
not a freestyle map editor, but a grid editor.
this way all 3 games (shoot, RPG, and race) will start on a blank grid.
NPC would be made out of one block that you could place. then they would be able to leave their square when started.
It is a simple map editor, one that a person with no creativity could place random units of houses, trees, or whatever in a grid map and you have a place to shoot, Quest, or even free race. It would be cool if you could simply make a map and set the conditions for TM, SM, or QM (or add all 3 if you want).
Maybe when it gets big enough, they might add a 4th type of game to map editor (SportMania). Simply add different types of goals (small round hoops, big squares), different types of balls (kick, bounce, hold, or stick) and a few different animations (such as bounce) and you could even put a few trees in the field for added strategy. Don't forget jet packs in your sports games, or low gravity.
After all sports games are a big success in the video game market.

Re: Map Editor
It's really too early to thin of a 4th game
But there should be one and the same editor, with just different blocks and envis, because you can share blocks between SM QM and TM² (said in the trailer). So 3 completely different Editors would be really strange.

Re: Map Editor
It is possible to do that in TM with "tunnels" and "freeride platforms" blocks, so it is possible to do that in SM...if we make the blocks needed.Akbalder wrote:Will the block system allow to create indoor map (for shootmania) ?
We don't know yet what exactly is a complete block set for SM, a lot of gameplay testing is still needed.
It's not because it's possible (a lot of things are possible) that we're going to do it, just a matter of choices.

Re: Map Editor
sounds nice fix, good luck with choosing the right blockset.
what came in my mind last night, SM will definitely bring the next generation of jump-maps to FPS-games (i bet), and that's very nice!!

OOoouuuuhhh yeah, like Trial maps in TM. Cool stuff
Re: Map Editor
Any ideas how "big" such a complete block set will be? More than as in one TM environment? Or all TM environments together?Fix wrote: We don't know yet what exactly is a complete block set for SM, a lot of gameplay testing is still needed.

And will there be significant distinction between a block set (amount of blocks) between TM2/SM/QM?
Re: Map Editor
It's too early to answer that question
But certainly not the amount of all TM env together
