The only thing I think we still need for TM2 is a good Snow env. But I would hope if we do get one with ice and snow, that it has a completely different car physics model. One that is not simulation realistic, but less arcade than Alpine was. More grip on ice and less grip on pavement. To me this would complete the Trackmania² collection.
Also I think the only thing keeping people from playing Valley and Lagoon are the vehicle handling physics. They are both clearly very beautiful and have some really cool blocks for building creative maps.
Releasing a second vehicle for each environment with different physics and control handling might bring in more users, while still letting people that want to, use the original vehicles from them. Maybe a second set of "Hyper Realistic" vehicles with controls and physics easier to handle.
I personally have played enough in Lagoon and Valley that I have gotten use to controlling the vehicles and have fun with them, but the learning curve was steep (especially in Lagoon). Every person I've talked with that doesn't like to play those env's says the vehicles are just too hard to control so they gave up.
*FLASHBACK*
Looking back to the first pages on this topic many suggested idea have made their way into the game.
With the item tools I was able to create my personal wish for a F1/GT style set.
The suggestions for a Jungle style env has clearly come to fruition.
While there isn't a specific Space environment, there is now the ability to alter gravity.
The Future City suggestion wished for magnetic tracks - guess what - they're here now.
The Dunes suggestion wished for Sand, Water and Palm trees.
Even the Boat/Hovercraft idea is being realized with the OceanMania TP WIP Wraith and his group have been working on.
Keep suggesting things. It's clear that NADEO is listening to our wishes and ideas. This is a great community for sharing creativity.
As always, I'm excited to see what comes next.
