 Phenomenal

Keep up the good work guys!!!

The better this stuff is looking, the more I'm starting to be willing to overlook my apprehensions. I still got issues, but man... this is incredible stuff. My hat's off to you.

mpbc 0.1.5 is released with the following updates:
  • Baked lighting now works correctly. No longer do blocks look "out of place", they correctly cast and receive shadows and ambient lighting. Big thanks to CoastKid for helping out with this.
  • You can now create custom clips, drawable roads, start points, finish lines and checkpoints.
  • Custom blocks now include an author name.
See main post for details about the changes and download links. Have fun :)

Collada supports many things, but this doesn't mean that Maniaplanet engine can read/use it directly from collada.
In our case collada can transfer two sets of UV coordinates to the custom block, to make baked light possible.

Ooooops !! Compatibility problems between custom blocks ! !

Installed last night the new dune block and it was great ! Better then the desert block... Thanks coastkid ! :thx:
But then, when i tried to load replays from my track "Nesrallycross r", TM shut down.... I removed the dune block, tried again, no probs... put the dune block back in place, TM shut down again, by same replay.....

Just reporting this so u can take a look into it....

Those blocks just different, even if they use same geometry. Compatibility is not meant to be here.
I think it is good that game does not support multi-versional blocks , it helps to avoid crazy mess.
So i think it is easier to make next version of map that using new block.
And this is a reason why better not to release unfinished custom blocks.

Ah, ok...thanks for quick response coastkid ! It could be a mess very fast using different versions of same type of blocks, agree in that. So i just "spare" blocks in another folder to i want to use it.. no probs.....

All the current demo blocks were exported from Blender without using any scripts, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you :)
