Yeah looks like this. With enough stamina, it is possible to grab the grapple even off the wooden planks. It is not a general problem with the wood planks or with the grapple hook ;)
I strongly recommend you try the stamina effect on the different path materials to "feel" how it behaves (jump, speed, slow down, etc.). :D

Some feedbacks after having played more. :thumbsup:

Since Beta 3, I am more often out of ammos with the rocket launcher.
I guess that the ammo regeneration has been reduced because of the "Instant reload of half an ammo when you hit someone" functionality.
I never noticed this instant reload but I have often been frustrated by not having anymore rockets. :evil:

I tried the Realm gamemode and I really didn't like it. :cry:
In this gamemode, I spent all my time waiting (to respawn or next to a pole).
Half of my elimination have been done by someone who has just spawned behind me. :?
The match were too long: In one hour, I did less than 2 matchs.

Having different textures for the walls and for the ground is great. It is less repetitive.

The new moods look great even if the colors seem a but strange for a few ones.

The new gameplay on wood is better but there's still something strange on it with the jumps:
Having to release the button to jump doesn't feel natural (when it's not after a long slide).

The new design of the markers is strange. It looks a bit like a laurel wreath. :?
When we are capturing a pole, there's also an image with a strange design.
I don't know what is is supposed to be. :lol:

It's good to have more information on the scoreboard but displaying only 7 players per team on it isn't enough.
Also the scoreboard could be more transparent to let us easily continue to play while looking at it.
Having to press Alt to see the tops isn't great because we can't continue playing while doing it.

Woo, my cry about chat status was heard! Now I don't have to change my status every time I start playing, it's always "busy". Thanks! :lovehylis

But I still want to cry about some things.

First, we already reached open beta, and still we have to change input settings for every title individually... It really is frustrating: recently I had to swap my gaming mouse for a cheap old one, thus correcting sensitivity settings. This happened in Elite, the mode I play most often. Next time I go to Joust, I discover that my sensitivity is far too low. Same with Heroes, Royal (exp and not) and any mode that is under the wings of Storm title. And "apply to all vehicles" button is redundant, since it comes from TM and does nothing here anyway. :p
And as some people here mention, why not set Y-axis sensitivity to 1 by default? I myself discovered the truth about it after playing for more than half a year...

Second... I forgot while writing my first point. :roflol: I'll come back if I remember it. ^^

I understand there are several more important things on the list, but small stuff like this should be able to be done rather quickly and not take up time from the more important stuff you're working on. And it would add so much to the user-friendlyness of the game overall (something that is sorely needed if you want to keep all the casuals coming back to the game, not everyone will fall in love with the gameplay so hard they'll overlook stuff like this)

So much truth in these both posts.
-Overal input settings
-Hide chat after X-seconds
-Has connected in chat only
-Y-scale to 1

These are 4 easy fixes! ( maybe not the first one )

Oh, I know remember my second point. A dialogue to confirm that you do indeed want to leave the server. As I had said earlier, it requires too many clicks, and is not really helpful anyway.

Also, if you go to "Manage Server" in Esc menu, you can't quit it with Esc key, only mouse actions.

Thats been in "mania" games since the dawn of time.
The one in the chat means that the person clicked on "Join server" and the one on the left side means that he passed the loading screen and can now see your "hi" etc.

Well, imo it's useful.


Regarding stamina in Beta 3, it seems that it gets used up quicker? Why?
I think a large attraction of this game is the size of the maps and the speed. Just like in Quake 3, and Trackmania, the speed is fun, and it shouldn't be limited. :(

Also, with the nerfed walljumps, I see it's harder even to jump up in the start on The Castle. This is something that the IPL commentators were really enjoying when walljumps were forced in regular Elite, so it's a shame that the side-effect of nerfing it makes even simple jumps harder if not impossible.

And just a question to Hylis, or anyone in Nadeo reading this: was the netcode changed with Beta 3 or after?
Maybe I'm just really tired with exams, but in the last week or two I've played alot of Siege and some Elite (always with a ping of 70-80) and time and time again I've shot a guy at close range with a rocket or rail, in his belly, and it just goes straight through on my screen without hitting :!:

Imo , the jumps are easier. Especially the jump at the beginning of castle. Weird that you dont share my opinion :s

I agree with ur question to Hylis. I have been experiencing those rockets going through people too.
