Yeah! It would be nice...

There's only one question: Does that crash come from a collision with another car, or from a collision with an obstacle or a wall? Because the first would ruin the whole multiplayer mode of TM² :(
Well, it would be awesome if we can set it in the serversettings. Crashmode On/Off. This would be awesome for real Driving servers and also TM wouldn't be destroyed cause you can set it off. :D
Right, you could simulate a highway/autobahn with this - would be really funny to have something similar to A2 Racer (Click this link if you don't know what that game is)! If speed cameras (Click me for the definition of this!) can be built in as well, it would be perfect for both the A2 Racer and the real-driving modes ;D

What could be done with that crash mode too is a kind of knock-out servers. Just get all other players out by damaging their cars so much they can't drive on anymore. TM² would be able to have elements from NfS, Burnout and other racing games with real-racing mode ^^

I would definitely love, if it is the second one. Because that would be really nice to see a little crash damage, when touching walls (if it isn't effecting the car physics) ;)
Yeah, it would make TM² a little more realistic. Though effects on the car physics after a crash would be nice as well ^^

It's about time Nadeo put the damage back in :D Now that the computers have caught up with their ideas, we'll see the unrestricted potential of the brains behind TM. :-P My thought is that the damage on the left-rear bumper comes from being rear-ended by another car, but in the craziness of TM, admittedly, that's not the only option. However, before there's a flurry of angry cries of "YOU RUINED TM" from certain members of the forum, let me point out two simple things. 1) Have you SEEN the trailers? If you look, in all the current videos out with TM2, there's no collisions. or collisions are off. You can see cars overlapping if you look at certain points. Secondly, if collisions do exist, you can be sure that it's the reason that TM2 has been delayed so much. Because Nadeo, if they have any logic at all, will want to meet these criteria with collisions:
1) The tracks/starting blocks are redesigned in order to accommodate a different style of play. (They're already doing that...some parts of Valley were WIIIDE)
2) On the cars themselves, the model no longer is simply a transparent "box", so to speak, with the model inside. (this is the current model in order to account for the quick and easy insertion of completely different models into one environment. So in order to have a functional damage map, they'd have to shrink the boundaries of the model to the actual 3D edges of the car. And do this algorithmically, because they simply couldn't predict every car model to be made on a TM2-Carpark.
3) With this new system in place, they would still have to be able to keep or improve upon the current level of moddability there is now, as that is what TM thrives upon.

So, looking at my points, it seems logical that TM was delayed--even if they're only implementing environmental collisions, there would still have to be a major retooling of how the computer and the game read the models. Which takes time. So props to Florent, Hylis, Nadeo, and all, and forget anyone who says otherwise!

EDIT: be careful about comparing TM to any other racing game. It's not. It's MUCH better. What I'm saying, and what other members of this forum have said, potentially adding a collisions "option," even, in TM, would take it from "an awesome racing game" to "The last racing game I'll -EVER- buy"

Wait...make that the last game -period-.

One more idea about the crash's!!

I notice that one almost every League Map. There's always a single block that i hit. Most times the lamps on Bay. ;)
It would be awesome if the objects get also damage so i just need to hit it once..

I hope the damage is visual-only and does not affect performance stats as in early stages of TM 1.0v
(The bumper is damaged gently so I guess it would be as I said).
