As i see, MP2.0 will allow to import only objects that will not support of grid snapping, it is a great tool for custom decorations, but it is different from mpbc that give us a lot of other possibilities.

I am pretty curious whether mpbc's release actually made a difference, or whether Nadeo was planning on including custom blocks in MP2.0 all along. I guess we'll never know
It is true that we had planned a bloc importer, but for later

We needed to have Maniaplanet 2.0 to start more interesting data import.

So, the object importer schedule is motivated by the quality of your work arc_, coastkid and others, but that is also a logical path on our development.

And I congratulate you

Rumelius99: don't run NadeoImporter directly. Run mpbc.exe as indicated by the manual; it will copy NadeoImporter to the ManiaPlanet directory for you.

Hylis: Thank you. It's not often that an unofficial mod gets official felicitations :)

I came to think, if the object importer only import objects, wouldn't it be useful to have this block-importer as well since it can work with clips? :)

I just posted a stability update, 0.1.9.1. No features have been added, only a common crash has been fixed. mpbc *should* be 100% stable now.

If it does still crash for some reason, you will get a message saying so in the console window. You will also get the crashdumps "ManiaPlanet.mpbc.dmp" and/or "NadeoImporter.mpbc.dmp" in your ManiaPlanet folder. In this case, please send me these files.

For those who got the error saying that updater_files.txt wasn't found: the error message now states the complete file path which mpbc is looking at, hopefully this will help find the cause of the problem.

I'm glad to see that _arc receives some official recognition for his outstandin work! Thanks for posting, Hylis.

Still, let's wait for the official feature set of Nadeo's importer. I'm not sure whether "visual, static and collidable objects" include different surface types or light sources or clips.

@_arc: Now that access to the game's textures is possible is there also a way to use the game's water shader? I'd love to have a simple plane object with the water texture to realize different water levels in maps (doesn't have to akt like water - just look like it).
