The problem that you freeze while loading depends on the map.

Hi,

since the upgrade we are having the problem that der server will not start anymore. With Google i was not successfull and i also used the search in maniaplanet but i still cannot find a solution.

Hopefully someone here will be able to help me :)...

When i start the Server i always get the message that *.pak files cannot be updated and that my account does not have needed permissions. (i started Shoomania Server and there are no problems, and i have used the same configfile) :cry:


2012/09/08 16:05:25] ...ERROR: Download oder Update von TMCanyon.pak fehlgeschlagen.
Verbindung zum Server Diese Konto hat für diese Aktion keine Ausführungsberechtigung. nicht möglich.
[2012/09/08 16:05:25] Titeldateien konnten nicht installiert oder aktualisiert werden ...


I have also reinstalled everything and tried it on another PC .. but this still doesnt help me. Thanks for your support...

i always run it as admin and UAC is disabled.. very strange :(

when i start the maniaplanet i get all updates for the client.. but when i start the server i always get the message that TMCanyon.pak cannot be downloaded or installed .. i have also checkted

C:\Program Files (x86)\ManiaPlanet\Packs and
C:\ProgramData\ManiaPlanet\PacksCache

there are only files of maniaplanet (i have deleted all packs in the folder and run maniaplanet again.. everything is working fine, updates will be downloaded and installed....client is working :P)

but the TM2 server :( will not run because TMCanyon.pak etc. cannot be downloaded or updated (firewall and permissions are OK).. and when i start the Shootmania server it is working... woot???? ... only TM Server has problems

are your talking about dedicated server ?
Never heared before the server tries to download paks ...
Download and configure the latest dediacted server - it should not download anything on start.

Running Elite Experimental on an Ubuntu box with S_Mode set to 1 and everything works fine, but eventually my server starts spamming this:

I'm not sure what is happening in-game that is causing this to happen, but I've observed it several times already. I'll try running with S_Mode 0 now and seeing if it pops up again.

I don't know very much this part of the code, but I do know that the bandwidth settings are taken into account when sending the map from server to client upon connection, and Id you add in the fact that a game is in progress consuming its share of the connection, it can take a long time to send the ~600k of the maps.
(in previous versions, all the bandwith was used to send the maps: was obviously faster but the other players were left with nothing meanwhile. That was one cause of lag on connection.)

So please make sure you're using an adequate bandwidth setting both on server and client.
(Dowloading ~600k on a 56k modem will take a long time, no matter what...)

Indeed, that's strange.
maybe you tried to install clients and server in the same folder? (which would be a bad idea...)

On my Joust server i have such a map problem too.

Server runs well until this map comes up, booth players stuck in top view if this happens.
Restarting the map with Foxcontroll helped in this case to go on.
I did some tests with this map... sometimes it is working 100 % as all the other maps but then during the game if a new Round comes up then i get stuck again ...

Maybe it is because the map has 16 Poles ? Bevore the Serverupdate this map was working without Problems.

Also i noticed that the Startblock has no GFX, i seen this also on other game modes but only sometimes.
I think this happens on maps with many Poles.

I wanted to Download the Console.log from the server to provide it here but no way, the Logfile is over 600 MB after a server uptime of 28 Hours ..... :roflol: What is there all Logged ?
