Re: TrackMania2: Centralised News about the Game

That's a very good poin eyebo.

But I'm afraid that when we'll have 5 environnements, it will be almost imposible to find a good server.
I mean, there will be players with alll envs (1 category of players and servers), players with 4 (+5 categories), players with 3 (+10), players with 2 (+10) and players with a single environnement (+5). That would mean 31 types of servers. Even with just Valey and Stadium that would be 7 different servers : servers with all 3 envs, servers without only Canyon or Valley or Stadium, and servers with only Canyon or Valley or Stadium.

So player who don't have all the environnement will barely find a multi-env server. Still, it would be better than only single environnement for everyone.

Sadly enough you can't always please everybody at the same time. :(
I think the posibillity to create a multi-envi-server should be available so it's up to server admins who to please..

EDIT: ooops, there was an other page. Switching around servers because of envi changes is not going to work i think.
If you don't have all envis, just don't join a server like that. It's that simple...

EDIT²: Oh heck, there will only be stadium servers when that comes out anyway.

Fragster published an interview of Hylis whithin which the question is asked. Hylis didn't give us more accurate informations though.
It won't be featured initially, in a multi-server environment. It will be possible to jump from one server to another, and we could set up multi-environment titles that would allow it. I cannot provide any dates, but this is a development we have already made progress on! Among the things that are done and the things that work, and given the magnitude of the project, there are sure to be surprises.

I'll buy it when it is done.

We'll take our tm2 server offline till then. It's just unacceptable.

Have fun in TMNF2 guys. All the other envis will be dead anyway...

Thankfully we still have united...

Sheeeeesh, you are just a naysayer, aren't you....?
This can always go back to the "wait months for a title or years for a whole game" ordeal if you wish it to. Because, once again, that's what this boils down to.
Of course, we're not forcing you to stay here, so if you really don't like it, then play the games you do like. ^-^

At the moment there is only Canyon. And if there is Valley and Stadium, who really cares if the servers can't run all together? Someone said that Stadium was the most popular environment... so keep Canyon and Valley for those who like it

Out of ideas and wishes about unplanned and yet unconfirmed features, you take a very strange egoistic and stubborn decision, which affect all the players who used to go to your servers.
Did you think even a microsecond about them?
They certainly won't follow you all, and it will only be you who lose them, not Nadeo. ;)

The first part : Having multible enviroments is what TMU was all about. No matter which car, it just gets boring after a few maps. At least for united players. I know that the nations kiddies love their stadium and that they are the main market now. It just sucks that Nadeo decided to totaly ignore the player who originaly bought one of their games.

Second part : I am not out of ideas. I am just pointing out the most important MAIN idea behind trackmania. Which was totaly forgotten by the developers.

And the players who used to play on my server are by now all bored by canyon and stopped playing long ago. We dont even update our server any more since nobody is joining it anyway. So I think the community spoke clearer than you can understand. Single envi TM just sucks unless you are a TMN kiddie. In which case you can be happy cause you are the new target market and will get all you want. Yay...

We have allready been waiting for years.

And yes, i'll stick to TMU. Maybe in the next few years we will get a TM2-United. Which maybe even will have cross envi servers. Let's see if there is any interest left then.
