Making custom models is not an easy skill set, and it's not one that everyone has. A comparison to making custom skins is also irrelevant because those have no actual effect towards the gameplay; custom objects do. Do you really think that allowing something like this in the main title is really fair towards every other person making tracks?
yes actually, I do.
the track/map editor is already extremely powerful as is. I don't think people would model out entire tracks very often, more likely i think there will be a handful of objects everyone goes to when making maps/tracks such as lights, traffic, cones, barriers, maybe enhanced blocks to go alongside the normal ones.
plus making maps/tracks isn't even a contest. unless you're really that insecure about your maps/tracks.

I'm just going to restate this here, because I personally think allowing custom objects in the main titles is a bad idea.
But that's just me.
I think it is also a bad idea but not only in Main titles but in all titles or at least in every title where the creator doesn't agree with this. But not for the same reasons (favor for modeller) but for coherence reasons.

It won't be possible to import huge objects so don't worry about that. But I know players are going to discuss about the limitation The rule : custom objects = titles was easier to understand and to explain...
Yes, and thanks to the discussion, I will even start with only 50 Ko, before seeing the consequence. And I have some escape scenario like enabling them into TM2 only after to keep the map valid, but not in the base environments. And thanks to the demo mode, anybody can join TM2 stations, so it would not be an "obligation to buy" at that moment as well.
In fact, the importance that it can have is so big that it makes me desire to risk the test of it. The risk/reward factor is interesting.

Would this mean it no longer gets its 100 concurrent players, as its not its own title? That would be a loss to anyone who had thoughts on having a populated royal server ^_^ .... In fact, as I like to see players I would prefer to not only see Royal with its own title, but also give Battle a chance too, as 100 players for that would be a start.
