After what we discussed at GA, I'm looking for this end of month.

This game really deserve more than what we have actually and players, coders, fans are waiting for some fresh info.

Elite experimental was added directly to players pc's during an update but I admit there was any announcement that NADEO created a Title pack.

For now, NADEO main goal is to increase player base in every game and especially Shootmania and they can do it. But they have to do it

My opinion:
I don't think Hylis is saying "never" say anything negative or "never" complain about things we don't like here, but we all know there are people who frequent the forums with little more intent than to bitch about every little thing, stir up controversy and insult players, developers and the game without offering any constructive solutions or feedback. This kind of behavior doesn't help in the progress of development and only provides Metaphoric Mud for Nadeo to trudge through.
I get why an onslaught of trashing can over time make people feel like the may be wasting their time. I mean if I worked hard on something for a good part of my life and was proud of it and excited to share it with everyone only to hear people literally say it was shit, I wouldn't want to go out of my way to appease them. Not everyone is going to like everything. Yes, they do get paid for what they do and that gives them the responsibility to provide a quality product, but most of the Nadeo team do what they do because they love it not just for a pay check. They like creating new things that haven't been seen or done yet and take pride in their accomplishments, so when people spew a constant stream of negative crap with no real constructive reasoning or solutions why wouldn't they take it personal sometimes? I would.
The fact is Nadeo has created something very different from anything else that has been done and I think they should be proud of their accomplishments. They are pioneers and pioneers are destine to run into pitfalls. That's the nature of exploration. There are things that get added from time to time that I don't like, need or want in the games but they are far outweighed by the excitement of what new and unexpected pleasures might come along next too.
It's ok to point out or even complain about something you don't like but don't make it personal and try and offer realistic solutions. Chances are they are already aware of a problem and are working on a solution that won't cause more issues.

I guess we will see, looking forward to the update. Let's see what's new/fixed, and prepare my schedule for some updates on several projects I think.. :shock:

Looking forward to a ManiaPlanet 4 beta, maybe even closed if possible. Previous closed betas always brought great positivity and communication between the developers and the betatesters, at least that's my experience.
It's great to read you're busy and want to do stuff against the negativity in-game and on the forums. I hope that it'll work out. I have been critical (though as constructive as I can) in the past and will surely be that in the future too, but I think it's important to see all sides of the story/community.

Best of luck and looking forward to the post coming up end of June :)

Take your time in developing, better doing things perfectly, then rushing into a nightmare.
Please keep the HP's coming, its only motivating and yes, you dont have to tell us all, everything will come in time.
Communication is The Key to keep players interested and excited.

And the end of june is only 3.5 weeks away ;)

Anyways, I just realised that the Hello Planet article would be the perfect time to ask some question. So I gathered some questions and it would be very cool if you'd take your time to answer a few within your article.

I'm not a SM-pro, but if I play sometimes, it's funny, specially siege and platform :)

A new environment would be really awesome :D I just searched for "Cryo". It looks a bit futuristic on images, but as I know, it's ice, snow, cold...? What means Nadeo directly? :?

Initially, Nadeo said that they were "preparing" (they had only the idea I think) 2 SM enviro : Meteor (wich is an enviro with fire) and Cryo(wich is an enviro with ice).

The initial plan was (I don't remember exactly) :

- Canyon
- Beta Storm
- Stadium (I don't remember exactly especially for this one)
- Storm "release"
- Valley
- Cryo
- Lagoon
- Questmania (L O L)

I don't count the MP updates as they are more related to the engine.

I think that everyone now know what are the plans for the future but let's wait HP6 ;p

Going a bit offtopic: Cryo has actually no sense, as Storm itself lacks player base. Even from technical side, Storm is just scenery of the game and all weapons, gameplay blocks would be exactly the same in Cryo, just frost-covered.

There is no sense to release a new environment for a new SM-game like "Cyro" (or Lagoon for TM²) if we keep the current maniaplanet structure. We have a "small" playerpase and we would begin again to split players for a new "title" for a new maingame. I have no problem if we get some new titles or new content, but not with the current structure of maniaplanet.

I think it should be enough, if we have a system like "United"/ "TMTurbo" for TM² and Shootmania (I prefer Turbo).
Example: We have 4 big icons with "Maniaplanet", "Trackmania²", "Shootmania" and if the times come, "Questmania". Inside this, there should be the titles of each releated environment, like an "ADD-ON" system with titlepacks. In this case, we would manipulate the view of player numbers for each maingame and randoms could/would try an orher server which have mixed enviroments maybe (like turbo^^). Just an idea.

A release with a new title would be always the same like we had in the past. It will be hyped for some days and then it's going to be "out of interest" - Like TMTurbo (^^).

My suggestion, just improve what already exist and allow new and old players to test it. If you change something, like Manialink-designs, make it possible to have "version-changer" or something like that, same for gameplay changes, add options to use the old and the new one (for example Siege or royal / serverside).^^

Well, we could have a "faster" gameplay or whatever, but Shootmania does not look like "flexible" like Trackmania^^
