If TM2 is worldwide then it will be a different time in most countries ... in fact it will be EVERY hour of the day so it could be any time Saturday or Sunday! Other games had thousands on at that time.

Other people, like my nephew, won't buy TM2 because you need the internet and they don't have it .. he downloaded TMNF instead ... not because he's a 'freeloader' but because TMUF doesn't offer him anything extra because he can't go online.... he wanted TM2 because of the better grafx.
Right now it is about 10.20pm here in the UK. Looking at the world servers, there are a total of 366 players on 68 servers. There are now less than 630 servers in the world of which 562 are empty Something needs to be done and fast!
Ummm... It'll have a different type of car as well, which means you get the same amount of playability learning and improving your skills with the valley car as you did the canyon car. If you are good at stadium are you straight away good at island? NO.

There are so many people that refuse to play because there's not enough players and are just making the problem worse. If everyone would just shutup and play then there would be enough players.
Okay, so i got TM2 yesterday to increase the population a tiny little bit,
but i can already see why there's a struggle with playercounts.
a) Only 1 environment.
This was okay for a free game, but TM has always had 3 environments.
TM:O had them, TM:S had them.
b) Only 1 mode.
Aw, what the ... ?
c) Not available on steam.
No clue why some distributors do that - it will always have an impact on sales.
Sure, always having Valve involved in everything may not be what some want,
but still steam is THE platform for games.
It's okay for BF3 not to be on steam with a multi-million dollar advertising budget,
but TM2 suffers badly of that.
Heck, i didn't even know TM2 was already released until i talked about it with
a colleague about 2 weeks ago.
I think it was dumb of them not to put this game on steam, think it would have much more players then, it would have been more recognized by people. Hope more people found out of this game cause much of this game depends on us, ( maps, skins to cars etc)
great game tough, would love to have a steering wheel to this game ^^

Errrrrrr .... How can my nephew use Snow/ Island/ Desert etc if he doesn't have the internet to pay for/ download/ install and go online to register and play TMUF on those environments ??? ..... HE'S GOT NO INTERNET!

...The exact same way he did with nations, except either he or yourself would have to first buy the game with a computer that has an internet connection.
EDIT: Alternatively, buy a boxed copy from a store/ebay/whatever
