yo,
so i've been waiting for a fast-paced, one-shot-one-kill fps for many years now (since the old times of UT99) and frankly when i saw the trailer for SM i all over the place.
as everyone, i have been trying to find a release date but i can't seem to find any matching, reliable sources. is anyone in a position to tell me when the beta/full version is about to be released or is that yet to be announced?

highly appreciated

There are so much ideas in Nadeo's artists heads, that they could work on it forever.
So the question is not "is the Alpha good enough already for us?" from our own (player) view.
I play a lot with the alpha, it really is gorgeous, it plays like a dream and it's addicting as youknowwhat.
But we don't know what the Artists have decided which of their ideas need to be in there at least, before they decide to approach a release.
Nadeo works that way, they are one of the last gamestudios without deadlines i think.
They are letting a lot of people play atm (hence all the tournaments) to see peoples reactions, and they constantly adjust gameplay and stuff from version to version to make it better each time.
Remember it is their first fps, so they need to find out "what makes it feel right", also to have some good basics for the environments that eventually will be released after Storm.
And all "time record" stuff for server controllers needs to be adapted to "hit record", so that at release some decent servers are available right away.

The gameplay is solid and I havent noticed any real character bugs yet, other than texture and editor bugs.
I think the gameplay itself is ready for an update to beta section, but I think they are trying out some different modes before they launch anything. Which I heard from a norwegian interview where they wanted to create some main modes in the game first, because players can easily create their own mode by changing weapons, timer, teams, capture flags and stuff.

There is also the blocks where they have to test out what they like or not, because there's a lot of blocks in the trailer which arent in the beta, for example the blocks where they are running in water. Also they said they are going to make some blocks to get out of the deep water because the character CAN (swimming motions) swim.

Beta is more or less "we don't change/add anymore stuff unleast really needed" like bugfixes.
There are still major things to add, like blocks, and there is no singleplayer neither, to name some.
So you will have to have some more patience.
But, the sheer fun i'm having with the alpha, i'm more than sure that this game will be worth the wait.
And no, i'm not payed to say this :roflol:
