Well, coop racing seems awkward to me...

I don't remember seeing any info on that, exept that "there won't be a lot of gamemodes at the beginning" and "it will be possible to make game modes with maniascript"
Correct me if i'm wrong...

Question: I'm going about saving all the puzzle pieces that have been uploaded so I don't get duplicates when I check on my own...do I have to have the .loc files as well or are the .png files sufficient?

.png are the real ones the .loc are the ones that added by the client due to setup by nadeo.

Okay, so if I just DL all the files from the puzzle thread without the .locs it'll still read it when I login to do a piece hunt in TM itself?

It's better to get the .loc's as the contain the real url of the .png.

According to several websites. Trackmania 2 will have 4 gametypes;

New game modes: Campaign, co-op, split screen, cup

Campaign will be the same as what we might know of in the old trackmanias.
co-op might be coopereation like maniateam.
cup might be the same as maniacup
split-screen might be 2/4/6/8 way gaming.
