You can create a skin and share it so that your opponent can use it

I cant seem to get it to work, would any be so kind to help me create a skin? Basically orginal but with a custom shield. Only thing that I want changed

i have been trying to create my own skin.
i copied the zip file into \ManiaPlanet\Skins\Vehicles\ArenaPlayer
problem is that ingame i cant select my skin, it just doesnt show up.
any idea how this could be solved?

just tried to get some response by creating a folder with the unpacked dds files inside.
those showed up ingame, all red. is something wrong with my zip file then?

looks like something's wrong with dds. are you sure you save them correctly? (DXT5 probably)

i use gimp + the dds plugin.
after editing i overwrote the old dds file.

works now, cheers.

sharing the solution is too mainstream I guess.

i downloaded a player skin and used that zip file for further changes. dont really know what was the exact problem. something about the zip file i guess.

Anyone please help me.

I have custom skins enabled and almost every public match I see custom skins on other players : flames , the esl skin, monster skin... U name it. I downloaded a 8MB skin ( in my country's colours ) and my teammates saw me using that skin ingame. So everything works just fine.

I created a skin and its 24MB. It works just fine.
But ive been playing whole day yesterday and nobody is able to see my skin. What's the reason? Is it the file size?
How does this downloading skins to other players precisely work? And when does this downloading take place.

I mean whats the point of creating a skin if no1 can see it.


( yes I have a locator file with a working link. )

Having the same problem though I supect it has something to do with how I zipped it. What do I do?
