Re: Free2Play
If you can compete in ESL and other compettion there's no need for any other payed version of the game.
Re: Free2Play
Hu , shut down the old servers ?
Ye sure , what about all the people who bought United ??
I mean there are still people who getting United, so if you shut down the servers they are sure not getting tm2.
No, keep the old servers alive ( or give a free upgrade )

Re: Free2Play
It was told about Nations (TMN/F), not United. It would clearly force people to make a choice (pay or leave the game), and probably that would be the most effective way to have TMN players contributing to the development of the game (if TM2 stadium isn't free). Well, i think lots of TMN players would come here and complain as hell... See what happened with Freezones, and expect twice worse!
Maybe a limited duration of the free version could help them to buy the game?zarexz wrote:If you can compete in ESL and other compettion there's no need for any other payed version of the game.

Re: Free2Play
that would be the death of the game, than we have no community in tmf and no community in maniaplanet. If this happen there is no reason to buy anything from nadeo couse nadeos games are mmog and they dont make fun alone.Romain42 wrote:It was told about Nations (TMN/F), not United. Re: Free2Play
@Romain42 ... I think some things you say are true but if I understand you correctly, this quote isn't...
Having bought TMUF, the very thought that ours server should be closed down makes me angry. I'm looking forward to playing TM2 Stadium but I'll still play TMUF as well because it's a great game.
I won't go on as it seems this thread is going off-topic.
There is a vast difference between TMNF/TMUF Stadium and TM2 Canyons. There is a much bigger drift in Canyons and you only have to tap your brakes to initiate wide sliding whereas the original Stadium drift is much less, more controlled and less 'floaty'. The handling physics of the two games are totally different.Nadeo already tried (in my opinion) to please Stadium players with Canyon that keeps the drift as a core part of its gameplay, while all the TMO/S environments were rather no-slide oriented (and Valley is expected to be no-slide as well). They couldn't really do something closer to Stadium, without making the same (or almost same) Stadium. And still, most of Stadium players sticked on Stadium. My understanding is they'll probably stick on Stadium forever, no need for new environments for them.

Sure, there are always exceptions.Omnixor wrote:no o_O quick example - CoD:MW.

Re: Free2Play
I don't think anyone would want to shut United servers down, I was only talking about Nations servers in this post:firstdriver wrote:Having bought TMUF, the very thought that ours server should be closed down makes me angry. Also, this is of course only imaginable if the "new Stadium" is going to be free as well. As TheBigG said, the "pay or leave" option that Romain mentioned is too harsh.Timmeh7 wrote:Those are exactly my thoughts. TMNF should be shut down with the "new Stadium" release. Regard it as an update.TMarc wrote:Then the old and certainly costly servers could be switched off or converted to ManiaPlanet servers without being a big deal, and no one would cry anymore for the original TMN.
As a player who wants more people to join ManiaPlanet, I really like the idea of "replacing" the old, free Nations with the new, free Stadium. (and I mean only Nations, Stadium should stay in United)
I think that would the most reasonable option to get more players. But I'm just a player and I don't know what that would mean in economical terms.
