Maybe a completely separate environment based on collisions. The physics, blocks, tracks, everything would be made with the idea that car-to-car collisions are there.
Then, if you want to play that environment, you know beforehand that you will face some drivers that are just there to crash into everyone. Then again, a special gamemode for demolition derby could be made... special tracks based on demolition derby, etc. If you're going to go that far, might as well make it where you can actually wreck other cars. Last car standing wins.
I could see collisions being useful for H&S servers as well.
So, I'm revising my earlier statement. If an environment specifically designed for car-to-car collisions was developed, I'd be okay with that. I'm not sure how much I'd personally play it, but it might be interesting to see.
To be honest, I still feel that it really wouldn't be TrackMania. It would be starting to get away from the core of what TrackMania is all about for me. But I suppose TrackMania is diverse enough for such a thing to exist, if the developers were even interested in going that direction someday.

Re: Collision Detection for TM2
like someone alreadey said I think, it would be better to see a separate game with collisions rather than just an envi.
