I truely meant this in a good wayGabrielM wrote:Thank you for warning us.

and although this 'issue" isnt smth on top of the prioritylist, it really should be fixed.
And if it isnt fixed then thats okay too, (cuz it doesnt bother me at all and Im happy with my sound) but dont make decisions like this in the future.
( maybe "warning" was the wrong word^^ but we should focus on the issue(sound) and not my vocabulary )

The neverending waiting game has to stop.
Re: SOUND : A few good things to know..
Well i meant it, even if there was a bit of teasing you.
Though we made it for a reason, to please the hardcore players that automatically complained when there was a bit of "fun" added to the sound/soundmix, and for people that play a lot of intensive 16vs16 games with non stop shooting and stuff, that could get pretty messy or tiring to listen to.
I asked also for having a setting in the audio settings (maniaplanet launcher), instead of this, but it was too much time for engineers to spend on, compared to the huge prior to-do list they have. In conclusion it was either this, or only full mix that competitive players were complaining about. It was then the only option to give everyone what they wanted.
It feels natural to play full slider, so a noob would probably play this way, and if he lowers the slider, some volumes (so, the average volume) would drop down, and then the main volume also. So what a noob would hear is something that he expects (volume going down) and only a good, experimented, detail-focused player would notice that the sound mix changed. The kind of players that searches for stuffs on google or the forum.
Also, I am really surprised of the argument "It's not a good thing if you want to play full mix with a lower volume, because you have to lower the windows volume in order to do it" because like any game, Shootmania average volume would always be lower than any very compressed (and i mean dynamic wise) song that will always sound way louder.
So if you listen to music full volume, or even windows sound alerts, facebook notifications and stuff, you probably have to rise up your windows volume everytime you play shootmania.. So in what world would you need to go lower than how it already is on a regular widows volume, with maniaplanet slider full scale..?
What i mean in conclusion is : This don't feel like an issue engineers should spend their time on, avoiding doing tons of cool stuffs that the players would have fun with. I asked, and i understand why they said no, that's really all i can answer. Only thing that could be done is removing the quiet mix, but you would then have to be sure that no-one at all uses it, would miss it, and would be pissed enough to write a complain on the forum about nadeo removing the quiet mix

Re: SOUND : A few good things to know..
I understand your logic and it does make sense.
Having a 'solution/extra option' is better than having no 'solution/extra option'.
Anyways, I dont think its the best solution, but ill stop discussing now.
What I originally meant to say was that NADEO should make stuff like this more obvious & self-explanatory even if the user is a hardcore-pro or a 5y old baby and keep settings grouped. Just like you should keep everything else grouped & ordened.

Is there a plan to create a real "Options" menu ingame including all the settings?novationx wrote:Having a 'solution/extra option' is better than having no 'solution/extra option'.

Re: SOUND : A few good things to know..
How was it hate? I was merely stating that Nadeo is probably the ONLY company in the world who makes what appears to be a volume-slider something more, as an equalizer, without explaining that ingame (Either using a tooltip or somewhere else).Fix wrote:If the only posts you can do these days are hate ones, you should stop sadzealot.
This is just useless, off topic, and the worst is it's intentionaly aggressive and offensive.
And I'm sorry, but someone HAS to come out and say how stupid this is. You might not want to hear it, but it IS STUPID doing this. It is, there is no denying that. And that isn't hate, that is merely stating the obvious.
But there's a big trend on these forums amongst Nadeo employees that they only want to hear +1 to all the good things they do and don't want to be told that they also do some really massively stupid things.
And that's why you'll never learn or do things better the next time. Because you consider this as "hate" or whatever, and not actual criticism. Because that's what it is.
*EDIT* I also like how the entire post disappeared.
You REALLY don't want to hear about the bad things in your game, do you?
Djizus [EDITED by GabrielM : Please use a decent language] christ this is probably the worst company in the world if they censor out actual criticism. And probably a good indicator that Shootmania will never ever make it in the world of FPS games.
(This edit you can call hate, but the original post was criticism)
Is also like how you call this offensive. Really? Stating facts has now become offensive to french people. Yes, because you can never do something stupid can you?

Saying something is stupid is an opinion, not a fact.sadzealot wrote:Really? Stating facts has now become offensive to french people.
We take in account criticisms, even yours. Our criticism as people, towards you, is that you have an issue expressing yourself respectfuly, humbly, even calmly. Please thake that behavior criticism in account, and you'll be taken more seriously. You can make criticisms on the game without making criticisms on the people working on it or talking about yourself

I haven't yet read any post from you that wasn't either victimism, or you declaring to be the humble (savior?) voice of the community. And i know there are 99% chance you'll be pissed reading this and that you won't even think a second about your behavior, instead asking other people to do it all the time. It always has been like talking to a wall with you.. But who knows.
To be honnest i'm not really looking forward to the next hate-filled answer, and i won't bother taking time to answer another of another copy of your previous posts. Maybe you could do the same.
I do hope issues will be adressed, and that you'll keep having fun playing shootmania.
In the mean time may you have a great day

I personnally notice a little difference between the 2 sentences, one is trying to offend.sadzealot wrote:Only a french company can make an ingame volumeslider that is actually a fricking equalizer and not tell anyone about it ingame .
