If you want to change the mappack see directly with the ESWC officials. I don't have more influence over this than you do.

Another advice : find another scapegoat.

I didn't ask for any of this, (Would have been less work not to make this selection and updating some maps.)
Then who is in charge of this ? Let's do a vote, at least, please :? ?

Don't tell me nadeo couldn't have even a word about this and that it's all eswc's fault.

Then done is the ESWC admins who chose the maps?
The game is dying.
It's as if the ESWC change the mappool of cs:go, totally stupid.

--> Maps already change MORE than in any other game.
That's more because Drakonia pushed to put in place a rotation of maps in the competition because today we could still be with maps like Archways, The Castle & co (it's not that they're bad, but they didn't use a part of the blocks which are available now and add a deeper gameplay with them).
dreammyw0w wrote:Dont you see all the players that are frustrated? Dont you see the posts?
I saw them, but i think that it's kind of misplaced (for a part), every game evolve with the time, changes are made to any game during its lifetime, take LoL, or Dota 2 or CS or COD, in every game there is Balance Patch and the last ones on ShootMania are on this kind of patch. The modification of a micro-jump was made to balance it, same for the walljump, it was a bugged implementation and now it's fixed.

Changes are made to the game to improve it on the mid/long term, not to please the players by any means. Maybe if you (by you i mean the most part of the competitive scene) are trying to play a little more seriously on the B3 gameplay, maybe you'll change your mind (like it was for the cancel rocket, the progressive-jump for example).
dreammyw0w wrote:Also, Its not too late to change the mappool to something normal. Change now & everybody is happy.
As PapyChampy stated, the ESWC has also imperative that maybe prevent few maps of the current mappack to be used in the competition (like to be spectator-friendly, especially for the people who will be at the Paris Games Week at the end of the year to watch the matches). Please consider that these elements are also very important for a competitive game (as well as obviously the gameplay in it).
But, check with the ESWC, they are the one who select the maps, not us.
dreammyw0w wrote:Im not saying you are bad developers. You can code much better than I do... But Im a gamer. Im gaming almost 14y now...
That's a "bad" argument you know? There is a lot gamers at Nadeo too, i bet for longer than yourself (for example i play since 20 years, i'm a big gamer myself) so it's not a game made by developers only, but by gamers too.
I don't say that we can play the game like pro-gamers, but we aren't clueless neither.

I feel like your ( Cerovan) post is not only about the ESWC-maps.
Im only going to answer to map-related stuff.

So its DRAKONIA & ESWC fault? I dont believe u didnt have anything to do with it. Anyways... If you say its them, then okay.
Well, they should be involved in this discussion :)

So Cerovan, what can we , ( and i think i speak for everyone who isnt happy with the maps ) do to contact the responsible ones and ask them kindly to change it ( asap )? Could you give me emailadresses or point us in the right direction, please? Or can you do this for us Cerovan?

Also, changes arent always good. Sometimes they are, sometimes they arent. However, if players arent happy then there is no point in having new changes, because players will leave. As Sephis said before : Just look at the numbers & playerbase.

Also, yes... having spectators is necessary so I admit that maybe we could have cooler maps using all blocks. I understand that for you (NADEO) ESWC is more like a SHOW-OFF to get new customers... However its an esports event conserning the players at its core & not a advertising-tool.

Also, no BIG decisions should be made without a vote or consulting the players that actually play the game.
So whoever took this decision ( NADEO , drakonia, jonthekiller, maniaactu or eswc ) , they made a mistake.

But there is good news : Its not too late to change. We can always start a vote this week and vote for new maps.
I think this would be a better solution than keeping things as they currently are.

PS: if the admin of ESWC would read this thread i cant imagine him leaving things as they are :)

If you want to ask to change the maps, the information contact for ESWC are available on their website : http://www.eswc.com/en/contact

It's more about to have maps watchable for spectators (like not using rooftops because with the global cam they can't see nothing). If you have a very good map but the spectators can't see not much, it's not so cool to watch and to understand the actions (or worse to miss them), that's why it's important to take this into account when an Elite map is created.

i don't know if you took a look at maps like mindcontrol or assaulting him with cake.. i already stated in a previous post : by a spectator point of view wich knows the game, i think is clear this maps are random , big and useless apart from pole zone.. so we are clear here that from a spectator who knows the game point of view we have a negative response;
from a spect who doesn't know the game we have big maps with alot of features in it , wich are NOT gonna be used by players who are gonna play strictly the pole zone vs defenders covered behind walls around the pole.. where's the excitement in that? the spectator it's just gonna understand nothing apart the 20% of the map zone in wich the pole is.. why waste other previous good maps wich offer a better reaction to spects in spite of this maps wich absolutely makes no sense?

How is mindcontrol too random? You really didn't read this whole thread, I wrote a long post about it.

I don't feel like replying to this thread anymore, I can't take people like you guys serious.
