Make the DRM possible in a way for players with internet that they need to connect to a nadeo.com/tm2/account.php

and players without internetconnection can use the cd-rom or dvd-rom to play offline and make things happen:

Requiring the cd or dvd doesn't work, because tools ******** CUT*********

As I said before, it's pointless to try and fight it. Those who pirate will, and those who truly enjoy the game will buy it. DRM only effects the paying customer and has never, and will never stop pirates.

To add on what I said yesterday.

Personally, lots of my playing time on Tm is solo. That's just the way it is.
I like to carry TM around.
I remember playing in the train, my holiday house, at gare de Lyon the laptop on my laps. Just because I wanted to, and because I coud.
No starforce to prevent the game to run on linux, on internet requiered.

I do that with Tm, I want to do it with TM2 too.

Well something else what might bug other players is.

If you lost the tmu cd you can download the .iso from sites and install the game.
After installation connect to your old tmu account and you are in but you don't have coppers.
To activate your account you need to type your last three characters of your playerkey.

To me that's a real bugger as there are always multiple combinations to make it happen.

Also with some editing you can ************CUT**************

Some kind of system where if you are online then no DVD is required, but if you are offline and want to play then you need a DVD might be a compromise.

Only thing is that with electronic distribution, having the DVD is likely to be an additional cost.

There should be ways to require occasional online check-in that means having a downloaded DVD .iso will not be too useful. Or you could just scrap the DVD bit and just require occasional check-in online to 'validate' yourself.

yes this is the way Battlefield: Bad company 2 works (the non steam version)

but if they scrap the DVD what happens to those who dont have internet? does this mean they are not allowed to play? why should they be penalised because they cant afford it or just have no means of getting it!?
I have internet now but in a few weeks time i wont have it because i cant afford it!! should i really not be allowed to have the game and not be able to play it?

As for Bad Company 2, i chose the dvd option.

If we can't do only the key thing, then i would like to see something like this.
If you play offline/online and you got a stable connection, then you just play, after logging in with your key.
If your internet is unstable or unavailable, then just insert the DVD and play offline or try to play online. But of course by using the key.
And you'll be able to switch between this two versions.

Not sure if that would work, offline key checks seem really easy to get around.

this might be used for keygen hackers. Every release thats being made and you have to buy it the hack scene comes up with hex edits to bypass it.
