I'm in! :pil

And about price... considering each full game offered 3 environments before United... (since United was the compilation of all previous environments with some beefed up graphical goodness and what not) -- they were all around $50 when first launched which would have made them around $16.67 each... so yes, this one is $3.33, which is a small price to pay with all the replay value packed in with the rich tools they've given everyone to work with.

How many of the other games offer that with their one environment? TrackMania FTW.

GG! See you at the races.

Trackmania 2:Canyon IS a complete game. Already. And how many racing games out there (Forza, GT, NASCAR, etc.), offer ONE environment. Period? For twice the price, and it's going up. Don't strawman just to be argumentative. Canyon's an awesome game, and it's -very- competitively priced. And further, it's not like they're releasing all these environments at once. They're going to be released as they finish them--which, originally according to Hylis (dunno if this has changed) it's going to be on a 6mo time schedule. Plenty of time for you to earn 20 more bucks. <_<
I don't get this argument. Gran Turismo 5 has over a thousand cars, 200 of them "Premium" with a ridiculous amount of detail, all with different handling characteristics. And 26 different locations. And it's a sim game with scanned tracks and ridiculously more advanced physics. TM2:Canyon is ONE car, ONE location, insanly simple physics in comparison and user generated tracks. I don't se how 7 cars and 7 locations could cost €140, that's all.

It's not about not having the money. It's about not wanting to pay €140 for something that should, in comparison to other games, be one normaly priced game.

Don't take me wrong. I love Trackmania and I hope TM2 is awesome. But I can't see how they could justify a price of €20 per environment. I mean, I can understand the price for the first environment, it's a new graphics and physics engine I pressume, that takes a lot of work, but the next enironments will use the same engine I pressume, so they should cost like a DLC car/track in Forza or something.

I could go into the arguments of why TM is not Gran Turismo, and comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges; I could explain that TDU2 and Just Casue 2 use the same engine, but you wouldn't have paid a cheaper price for one of them; I could explain that it is not going to cost €140 euros as this is not TMUF - but the truth is it doesn't matter. You are free to choose to not buy the game if you feel it represents bad value for money. This is your right as a consumer. Just remember that whilst you are sat at home outraged at the price of the game, the majority of this forum will be enjoying map-making, drifting, and general racing goodness

Think of it this way, I am paying for the new environments because this is the game "I LOVE", if I had as much fun playing World of Warcraft as I did Trackmania I would play it, oh and that game requires you to buy all the expansion packs and pay $15 a month to play...

Nadeo are great developers and they deserve it, they do a great job satisfying the gaming customers.

At last it doesn't matter how many content a Game have, at the End only one thing matters: how many Fun have you with this game related to the Price of the Game and how long you are playing (TM many Players month when not years).

And look at GT5... i hear many GT5 Players played the Game only a short time. Content is not all, i must brings fun over a long time, than you have a good Price/Fun rating. ^^

At Trackmania i see a other bigger Question: are there enough new Stuff in Part 2 compared to the last TM Game? For me, yes, but if there enough for all other players?

Even some games are made by one man and have great success and games made by many not worth it. Like Balmung said, it is either you enjoy it or not. I know that we have worked ten times more on one environment than on the one before, I know that there is a bigger system behind than ever and I know that enabling the power of the players to be in the game is great. But you just have to buy the first one and not the others, this is as simple as that if you find it not worth. I think it will, but I don't want to sell you to this now, because I still have to do the job after.

We delivered engine and online updates through years and an environment and technology that you can not compare. I don't say it is better, but go look for the track editor of GT or I even spoke with the Forza creative director, telling him the light is nice in its game, and he told me he was impressed by our track editor. We took a different path for development. Please do not compare the number of cars in Gran Turismo to our game or we will all end with Gran Turismo games. GT is great, but you are on the ManiaPlanet/TrackMania forums, and I think it is something else. The average time of play of TMU is at 70 hours and last time regular players bought something was in 2006, and you will find many still playing it.

The £19.99 for an environment isn't what concerns me the most, it's not a lot of money at all especially when you consider the amount of entertainment it will give, and the amount of work going into the game, it's the fact that not everyone who buys canyon will have the next version, and whatever follows that. I'm sure everyone will have their favourite environment but what if people are happy with canyon and don't bother with the next one 6 months later? There wont be as many servers catering for those people, and servers rotating multiple environments will have to kick players who haven't bought the newest update. If i was running a server i would just keep it canyon only unless i was sure 99% of people had bought the newest environment.

You will also have new players here, so who knows what the balance will be. That's like a game and another, but here, they can be linked somehow. ;)
