I'm close to giving up on TM2.

It does not capture my interest in the same way as TMNF/TMUF did. In short,

full speed is too easy (read:boring)
the narrow roads aren't very good (although I like the bumpy bits on the ground)

suggestions
+about 3x as many blocks to make it remotely interesting
+make the car not skid when braking in a straight line
+remove auto-brake : This kicks in very frequently in places where it shouldnt, especially at low speed. (I tried going up an arena ramp onto standard arena block slowly and it made my car stop dead 5/10 times)
+a bit less drifty, or make drifting slow you down some more, or perhaps even make the car lose control at extreme drift angles. just SOMETHING to make this interesting.
+shrink the blocks/environment. allow the GP track to be narrower (so its actually a challenge) & allow the narrow road to be more like stadiums, or at least a bit wider.
+add intersections

I will of course wait for release to pass final judgement but it isn't looking good.

don't think that at this stage of developing any of these features will be added...

We're still in the beta, and even if these features won't be added now, Nadeo still likes to hear the feedback to get a sense for what players want. Keep in mind that updates will come later for Canyon and any suggestions now that aren't added in the beta may get added in a later update.

One think, I feel lack of some concrete blocks, otherwise Canyon the best of series for me so far!

+1. Me too.
Almost every interesting track feature you can think of is cockblocked by obstacles, lack of viable transitions or just a lack of blocks. Most people use only GP and platform blocks because those are the only blocks that actually offer some degree of freedom to the builder, whereas the others are full of "we want players to slow down and drive carefully".

FUCK SLOWING DOWN.
READ THE GODDAMN MANIA FAN BLOG. :x FFS.
Hylis explains his rationale for the block pieces with a frakking dragster of a car on these tiny-ass roads. The goal, as in previous TMs, is -not-, repeat, -not-, to go as fast as possible and hope you don't die. A measure of control -is- necessary here. It's a bit of a retooling of the TM series, in which the brake is more than just a superfluous command. You actually need to apply more than a dash here and a sprinkle there to get through tight tracks, and, just because you -can- drift through every corner, doesn't mean that's automatically the way to go. By god. Don't you guys ever widen your driving strategy to something other than "FULLSPEED HURR HURR"?

I'm not okay with narrow roads where you are expected to drift but if you drift 1mm too much to the inside or outside you crash. It reduces online competition from "who's the best driver?" to "who survived the matchbox track hairpin and didn't completely screw up the rest of the track?".

Also, when the majority of road types in the game are devoted to "going slow" (yet the transitions between them are several blocks long, dead straight, and boring to drive at "slow" speeds) you might as well play rFactor.
Then go play rFactor. And let us who -like- Canyon, play Canyon.
