Really bad.

So far it worked well that users have written the server managers.
But now you, Nadeo, released your own. Without consequences?
No; very soon, new players wont realize, that there exists managers by the community.
Sascha already stopped working on the "live" part of RemoteCP.
Because: Why shouldn't users use the official Manager?
I hope you know that you are destroying lots of work made by the community!
They'll just use ManiaLive, because with that they can have a really awesome FreeZone server.
Don't missunderstand me, ManiaLive is really good, very modern PHP-Code a.s.o.
But I think it really sucks, that it is possible to create FreeZone Server with ManiaLive. And just with ManiaLive.
Very much, too much, restrictions for a FreeZone Server.
Better you rename "FreeZone" to "RestrictedZone".

That's what I think,
Marco01_809.

well the freezone plugin is open sourced, which means it can be ported to fast and xaseco.... so no worries.

On top of the plugin it says:

Code: Select all

/**
 * ManiaLive - Freezone Plugin
 *
 * @copyright   Copyright (c) 2009-2011 NADEO (http://www.nadeo.com)
 * @license     http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.html LGPL License 3
 * @version     $Revision: 2075 $:
 * @author      $Author: florian $:
 * @date        $Date: 2011-01-26 17:48:07 +0100 (mer., 26 janv. 2011) $:
 */
So, it is open source... ?

Incorrect. Read the "GNU Lesser General Public License" page.
Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim copies of this license document, but changing it is not allowed.

Yes but copying it is not allowed, doing it from the scratch (from 0) i think it can be done.
Why force servers managers to use ManiaLive??? I think is very stupid.

Gekko, stop your whining please.
If you do such a thing, i'm sure Nadeo will say "experiment has had a disappointing result" and cut the project off.
And we will be back to the freezone servers as it was before.

If i adapt the plugin for TPS i can run it?
I need to use ManiaLive anyway?
Thx for the answer.
Sorry Gekko but you can't, see: http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=190059#p190059

But you can do like Zero do. He runs (X)Aseco and ManiaLive. So you can run TPS plus ManiaLive on your server
and as Manialive without plugins nearly doesn't use resources i don't see the problem....
