You may say there will be bad maps using it. But there's also bad maps without it

I really think the use of cubes and signs can be helpful to make a map more easy to read.
Bad maps =/= buggy maps.
Players could produce maps containing overlapping textures for example, since they don't have any restrictions or guidelines when building maps. This wouldn't be good at all for the game.

I agree with you about the cube and signs.
They have guidelines : there is the random generator, and different levels of complexity for the editor.
An advanced option like in TM2 is different than allowing blockmixing for everybody. Otherwise someone is gonna do a 3rd party blockmixing software like it happenned before...

And by the way, it has been possible to make buggy maps without blockmixing. Yet hard, but possible

The easiest first ^^ It´s just an rebuild from what i´ve seen in the trailers, may they look in original a little different, dunno (got no console for beta testing), anyways it´s also not embeddable cause this texture is made by myself.

2 things:

1. I see Xbox pad buttons, so this could be mislabeled as PC
2. Press usually get review copies, that might have different rules than beta availability

Edit: Nevermind point 1, I see a Uplay notification!

You can edit nr.2 also. He isnt from the press ;)

He got that pc-edit probably because of his recent visit to ubisoft netherlands as a representive of Esport of the Netherlands.

Nevertheless it still doesnt anwer the question which imo can only be answered by nadeo.

Second thing. Its only a 5 days wait. So play some maniaplanet in between an its releaseday before you know it.

TheM wrote:So you give certain people early access (link) to the PC version, but you can't organize a beta for it? - Bit hypocritical, wouldn't you say?

The people who have supported you through all these years are the last (unless they have a console...) to play your new game. :?

Anyway, let's wait some longer then... ;)
What I am really wandering is how well will the game work on launch, There has not been a single TM game without a Beta before, and there has been no Beta without bugs. Ok tested on XBox or PS but that means little.

The more I spend time here the more I wonder why I am still here, why we are still doing stuff for this game.

Then I remember the great community, that creates incredible thing. That is the only thing left and it is crumbling to pieces.

Regarding the question of a missing beta on PC platforms: (german article) http://www.4players.de/4players.php/spi ... -Beta.html

Trying to translate, sorry for mistakes :D
Since TrackMania has always been on PC we wanted to keep the focus on the infrastructure of the consoles to ensure the best possible experience for everyone at lanch. The goal of the beta is to have a stress test with a large number of players just before the release. PC players will get the chance to explore the game in form of a free trial version, which will be aviable as soon as the game launches on 22. March in North America and 24. March in Europe.

I presume why there isn´t a pc beta this way (no bad meaning tough^^):
- Turbo is primary made for consoles
- basically it´s a graphics mod with some new content (items/blocks and some game modes)
- all environments are well tested by us (canyon, valley, stadium) -> no beta needed for that
- only lagoon is a bit new (a bit an island port, may another physics than the original)
- the only really new thing is the double driver (which is not in the beta?)
- "server" system is new for trackmania with game rooms (p2p servers like other games), seems that this work smooth (if you watch the online gaming twitch streams)

Excuse me if i forgot something important, i know how much work it is (hope so)^^ ;)

The new pr work is great, most of the big streamers are playing and hyping Trackmania Turbo and in general we can say that it will be good (if the ubi servers are tough enough...^^) I bet that the gaming experience will be similar for PC as for the consoles, so in all it will be good   :pil

In general Turbo is that what most of the time are being asked here for maniaplanet: Put all titles together to one game and add some new content (take some ideas of the creative community inside the core game -> what has happen in turbo) So it´s very nice in all (but i wish this all would be inside maniaplanet :D :D ) :roflol:

The creative power amount inside maniaplanet is very high (even if this is only made by a few guys) in scripting, graphics, creating 3D (models, items etc.), video editing etc. . This spread among the whole community and hopefully this still grows in the future; so oliver that´s why we all stay here i guess and it will not crumbling to pieces if we keep it going :)
