This looks like latency to me.
Railgun not accurate!!

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
This could be lag exepted that we have so much screens and videos with the same issue
Re: Railgun not accurate!!
Its not related to lag. It happens on perfectly fine servers with perfectly fine ping, snapeshotdelta, etc etc.
It is a huge issue. Rails just go through people, roccets dissapear when hit. A rail will go anywhere: there are rails that were aimed at the feet but go over the top. This is especially a problem when the target is moving "into" the shot.
There are positions on certain maps where u cant be hit at all. It`s mental. The game needs serious netcode/hitbox improvement before getting released or it is in terms of esports death already.
I mean this is especially shit on defensive maps where every pickshot counts.

Guys, see in slowmotion: This is the problem with laser:
- When i hit the oponent, he´s dont kill
- When i miss the oponent, he´s kill.

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
That sure looks like to high ping! Both you and the one you kill needs to have good ping! Like atleast below 50. This looks like the ping but I might be wrong.rudiporto wrote:Guys, see in slowmotion: This is the problem with laser:

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
I don't know how a discussion about inaccurate railgun turned into hitbox discussion, but ok.
Rail should ALWAYS be 100% hit where you aim it at. The comment how three dots over model "need a good decision to shoot or not" doesn't hold water. If I duel and we're both accurate, he can get a random hit while I miss, but I aimed straight on. This is not competitive, this is praying to a random event. Now you have players shooting over the map and hoping they get a hit they should have gotten every time. If someone can aim faster and more accurate than you, he should win. It was always like this in every game, with a good reason: skill over lucky shots.
About hitting behind people and getting a kill, I think I can help you out with this one. It's a problem with sync between player model and his hitbox. I don't know if Shootmania uses an oval hitbox (I don't think so), so the problem is more apparent. Let's see Q3 hitbox for comparison:

The hitbox is larger than the player model. That's why you see a hit behind someone, but this gets worse:

It can get bigger if you rotate your char 45 degrees. With oval hitboxes this is not a problem, they stay the same. It gets worse:

This is flying from a jump pad. In normal movement the hitbox laggs a little behind the model, so you have more space to hit. That's why you hit behind and get a kill.

Flying sideways from jump pad. It can get as crazy as this.
To add to this illusion you have a rail animation that draws some split second AFTER you click your mouse, which, if the opponent is moving, adds to the combined illusion of shooting people behind them, because they moved a frame in that time.
I can't comment on failed shots, because it didn't happen to me in this game yet. But it's a whole other issue with netcode.

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
After I changed my crosshair to Stermy's I felt at least twice as accurate with the Railgun.
You need to remember if you're used to rockets you may have a tendency to slightly lead the target. When you do this, they walk into the laser shortly after and it looks like the laser went through them. So thats an issue.
I don't know though. I feel like you need to be more precise with this rail and the quake rail was kinda spoiling us haha

i never realized how huge quake hit boxes were 0_0.TheuberClips wrote:After I changed my crosshair to Stermy's I felt at least twice as accurate with the Railgun.

Also I've been thinking about changing crosshairs...I'd like to do my own but I saw somewhere some really simple cs 1.6 style crosses and I liked them.
Re: Railgun not accurate!!
Yeah Nadeo atleast make it modable so we can make the railgun shoot at the exact same spot every single time!
