Trees
As I can see in a few pictures, they are 2D trees, just like those Canyon trees

but the density of forests will be much higher in Valley compared to Canyon, which is a desert, and by definition relatively free of vegetation

It's kind of a shame that the trees are 2D even in Valley
I really hope that they somehow manage to make them 3D, because it looks kinda weird.. In Canyon it was okay but the trees will have a higher importance in an envi. like Valley I guess..

Yea, I think I'd rather see two polygon static trees than one poly rotating trees. Or maybe even an option in graphic settings.

This is probably your shortest post of all time eyebo. This one should win an award
I am convinced, that 2D trees will make by far a better job than 3D polygon trees. The 2D Trees don't look bad at all. With a great texture Quality, they look very realistic. The only issue is the rotation of the trees, when you go in circles around the trees and keep your camera angled at the tree. Seriously who does that on a racing run?

When you pass by a tree you won't notice the rotation.
Those trees, which are very close to the road are split into several 2D parts, to make them look better, as far as I can see it in the announcement trailer.
However, the high amount trees in Valley just call for 2D trees. Take a look at the intro scene of the trailer: Tons of trees, every single one of them in 2D. Does it look bad?

I didn't even noticed that the trees were in 2D
And after watching again the trailer, it's really not obvious.

I don't mind if the trees are 2D while driving, because then there is not really much time to look at them
