But if you think it's exactly the same game, then why do you even care?
If you see someone pickpocketing someone you know, would you care?
Would you care, if you see someone damaging someone's property?
Now, I kind of care, if someone is trying to sell something that was free without any restrictions to all people, including my friends.

No-one is making you play the new one but you. And if you *do* want to play the new one so much, it's probably worth paying for.
The first sentence is correct. I play (and pay, yes!) whatever and whenever I want to play.
However, I can't see how paying for few new sounds and shiny things is worth anything.

As an aside, considering Valve take a cut of everyone elses game sales (as their distributor) - they can afford to give their stuff away.

But... Ubisoft also sell games? It also takes a cut from many other developers. So they have loads of money, too.
Being greedy is not always profitable.
It's not that I want everything for free. I buy a lot of games, most of them are some indie creative masterpieces. My steam
profile says that I have 111 games. Not every game I bought is available on Steam. So here's my answer to your "herp derp support developers!". If something has reasonable price and is really good, I will buy it and will keep an aye on future productions. That's exactly why I bought every single previous TrackManias (because I liked one of them) until my favourite and I think the only one car game I like is turned into something different... let's call it by it's right name - OneEnvirMania: Greedy.

What do I get when I pay for TM2 Stadium? More single player maps? More options in multiplayer? Is there some side-by-side comparison somewhere?

- a complete new solo campaign

- improvements on GFX
- usage of ManiaPlanet map editor (which have copy/paste, macroblocks, etc) in comparaison of the Nations Forever one
- Acces to all functions of ManiaPlanet for Stadium (Team/Competition Manager, ManiaScript, Title Packs, custom 3D objects, etc...)
- No freezone

No. Not regarding the price if you think of that.
Yes, if you use the same login for all games, you can combine your gained planets.

.
Well... then... don't pay for it.

Play the less shiny version.
I appreciate your concern for the rest of us, but the rest of us can make our own minds up! Contrary to your dubious analogy, Nadeo didn't pick my pocket or damage my home. They offered me a product for money. I deemed this product to be worth the money, despite already owning the paid for version of the previous Stadium (via United) , so I bought it.

These scenarios were supposed to show caring about others and why you aren't unconcerned about other's harm. And of course if people like you really want to pay for this, then I guess there's no harm for them. In my eyes, these people just wasted 9€ which would be harm for me (wasting my 9€).

You have your opinion, you seem to be very frustrated about the changes in ManiaPlanet, thats OK and accepted.
But it is still not a reason to try all the time to persuade others not to buy it because you personally don't want to pay or can't afford it at the moment
If you prefer the old Stadium, then you don't need the new version, unless you absolutely want integration in ManiaPlanet.
All the new players which don't know it yet might be willing to pay for what they get, or they also use the free version with the known restrictions.
Nothing else, and nothing really bad.
Where is your problem with it?
Simply let the others take their own decisions themselves based on their own investigations.
And trying out the beta doesn't cost anything at all btw.

Exarkon: If you don't play rounds, teams, laps, cup or custom modes, if you only drive the maps and never build anything in/for trackmania, then indeed you might not see the difference. Otherwise... Well, it's written everywhere...
Like Slig i'm a bit sad not to see mods like rounds in the free version. I'm affraid players will learn TM with only the time-attack mode and never even imagine there are other modes... And those who bought the game for the rounds mode, for instance, will find even less buddies to race with than previously.
Finally i think i would've preferred no free version at all (they'll throw me tomatoes for that ^^). Again, players that bring the most content to TM (those who REALLY like the game, create maps, 3D models, skins, objects, mods, scripts, game modes, manage servers or events, drive competitions, run the community websites whithout which the game would be nothing) will pay and contribute to the cost of the development. And again, those who play the game ONLY because it is free and like it ONLY because they can't get better for free will get a generous gift. And because they've been used to ask for free things and get what they ask, they'll even complain because it's not enough. And because nobody says NO to them, they'll be nastier and nastier...
Seriously... They bring nothing. Why shouldn't they simply be ignored? You don't pay, you don't play...

It also doesn't make any sense to me that the free mode is time attack, not rounds! I don't even know what to say about it, except that for esports one would really want rounds or cup to be a free mode...

I'm cool with paying for a game, 10€ sounds right for TM Stadium.
I guess I just that I expected more from this release. It's been so much time since TMNF came out that I thought I was going to see a new game, with tons of content added.
Are there even plans to bring new features and content after the beta? Because it seems Nadeo is happy with the result, and I'm not.

Already did.

there will be/is a new solo campaign (I don't know if guys who paid already have the full one, or only first 15 tracks like free guys), also it's said that there will be new blocks

The funny thing is,
In business terms we've probably all wasted way over €10 writing on this forum and weeeeeeew there goes another one.
