Got a little problem with importing engine sounds from TMUF to a Maniaplanet skin.
I copied the engine sounds from the SportCar (SportCarEngineIdle.wav, SportCarEngineLow.wav, SportCarEngineMid.wav, SportCarEngineFast.wav) and put them into the folder "Engine" inside the Maniaplanet skin .zip file. Then I renamed them to loop_1487Rpm_throttlee_exhaust.wav, loop_2973Rpm_throttle_exhaust.wav, loop_6300Rpm_throttle_exhaust.wav and loop_10000Rpm_throttle_exhaust.wav.
Unfortunately when I open a replay with that specific skin, no sounds are hearable except the landing/surface sounds.
Not sure what's wrong - I tried the same procedure with the RallyCar and DesertCar engine sound files and it works. Anything I need to keep in mind?

Probably the sounds for "outside the car" are missing.
As Stadium is open car, the sound engine does not take the usual "inside the car" sounds.

I wonder why it works with the DesertCar's and RallyCar's engine sound files then, since none of them are open cars either.
By the way, it's not a StadiumCar skin I am working with. I imported an Island Replay into Maniaplanet.

ah my bad.
Still, try to use _body.wav sounds: just do a copy of all your sounds, and replace _exhaust by _body on the copies.

I renamed the files and it still doesn't work :/
Can't really figure out the problem here, engine sounds from TMO cars work perfectly but not the TMS ones..

Hm. Please compare their format, perhaps they need mimimal conversion (different samplerate etc.).

Any way to check that? (not really into that topic tbh^^)

already the Windows Explorer can show it in the file details.
But any good audio file utility will also help, like the free Audacity.
You could upload your skin with the sounds somethere (like DropBox) and give me the link in PM, and I'll try to find out this week end.

I noticed that all engine sound files from TMS environments have a bitrate of 1411 kbit/s while the TMO ones have 352 kbit/s only. Maybe that makes the difference? I will send you the files via pm

The cause of the different bitrate is: half of the files are stereo, and this is not allowed except for music.
Converted to mono, and the sounds are working! Now the engine steady sound is much to low
