What is the reasoning behind this?

Code: Select all

inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Melee/Melee - SandCastles.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Standard/Battle - StrongHold.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Standard/Battle - LongestDay.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Standard/Battle - Black&White.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Standard/Battle - HappyValley.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Standard/Battle - OverFlow.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Beginner/Battle - AroundTheCorner.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Beginner/Battle - IceMania.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Beginner/Battle - CrossFire.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Beginner/Battle - QuickDraw.Map.Gbx
  inflating: UserData/Maps/ShootMania/Battle/Beginner/Battle - Snake.Map.Gbx
Why not have all battlemaps in same folder? Why complicate things with an extra subfolder?

Also, wasn't there a hotfix for gui related stuff or something?

You have to get Combo.Title.Pack.Gbx from you Documents/ManiaplanetWorks/Packs and put it in the pack folder of your dedicated

The changed files are:
./ManiaPlanetServer
./ManiaPlanetServer.exe
./UserData/Packs/Elite.Title.Pack.Gbx
./UserData/Scripts/Libs/Nadeo/ShootMania/KingOfTheLobby.Script.txt
./UserData/Scripts/Libs/Nadeo/ShootMania/ScoresTable.Script.txt
./UserData/Scripts/Modes/ShootMania/Battle.Script.txt
./UserData/Scripts/Modes/ShootMania/Realm.Script.txt
./UserData/Scripts/Modes/ShootMania/Siege.Script.txt
I downloaded the new version and updated/uploaded just these files to the server. Now I get this error:

[2013/04/11 15:46:37] This account hasn't access to all needed packages.
[2013/04/11 15:46:37] ...ERROR: Load failed. Not allowed to load Joust

I guess my joust script or title pack is corrupted. There was no new one in the zip though

You have to get the packs from your MyDocs\ManiaPlanet folder.. Really should have more sensible download packages -- perhaps a 'core' package, an 'update' package', and additional packages for titles (spending an hour to download 400mb from your slow site is a bit silly when all I need is a single 20mb file).

Requiring a player to grab files out of their game installation is a bit short-sighted.. Dedicated game server software is historically free and openly distributed, not kept just to those who own a copy of the game.

PS: Guy above.. updates should be able to be applied recursively over your existing installation. Easiest to just 'wget' it directly on to the server; then 'unzip' it right over everything, add execution rights, and run using a start script (just be sure to rename your sh script from one of the defaults).

They must of rebooted their httpd, or something in the pipes was clogged.. Last week I could barely get past 150kbps, but the last few days I've easily gotten 5mbps+.

Still, though.. No reason not to have a more sensible package system. One for the dedicated server itself; one each for support files for SMStorm, TMStadium, TMCanyon, etc (these really should never change -- at least if Nadeo ever fixes up their SM scripts); and an update package for whatever has been changed since the last version. It'd be incredibly easy to implement in a repository.. install SMStorm, require the dedicated software as a dependency -- no more hundreds of megabytes of files you'll never use being installed on your system.
