Uhm , I'm no Nadeo staff but if I read such a post I also should not know what to do with it.

Maybe You should post some idea's , suggestions , drawings , screens ...... whatever.
A picture tells so much more.

What is wrong with the interface anyway ? :roflol:

- Larger size limit for embedded objects. Why is it there in first place? It seriously makes no sense as usual, it's not like any players cares about having that limit. Besides the online map size limit (which could be knocked up as well, anyway :P), unrestrict it all!

Agree 150Kb looks low but the other limit of 2Mb per maps is low too... with embeded Item it's too easy to reach 2Mb

Yep, embedded objects have so much potential to change the whole game. I'm forced to make things "less smooth" to take care of the size limits, directly influencing the quality of the maps and game.

5. I agree. 150KB is very low, if you want blocks that are a bit more advanced than objects with only straight edges. Every kind of quality roundness just exceeds the limit, especially if you want to use more than one object in a map.
And nobody wants a bumpy turn :0010
Or somehow add the objects into caches

:pop: Nazdárek from Slovakia,i`m glad to be part of this and you really made me happy with GUI for manialinks in interface editor.
I see lot of interesting wishes .. which will indeed make the game better and nicer, but most of my wishes will be on different note, mainly because i miss the massive amount of players from old times. :( but not only, because i recieved quite a bit of feedback from other players. I will divide it to few categories..

WISHES TO MAKE MANIAPLANET MORE USERFRIENDLY AND LESS ANNOYING
First and most annoying thing is that we have to actually turn off the client to do quite common things.
Toggle audio, Graphic settings and most annoying of all is switching account. I dont know why it is that way, but i would like to know why or just put it in if its possible please pleaaase

GET RID OF "ONE NEED TO BE A PRO IN CODING" FOR DOING STUFF IN GAME
It basically means that if new player want to do 3/4 of stuff available in game, he has to study tons of materials and do most by code. Its not bad if you wanna do changes inside the game like blocks or custom titles. But I personally remember the huge frustration when i wanted to create dedicated server and have actually get into coding.
and then i found out :o that there actually isnt main documentation explaining all things from creators of game :?
Lot of people leaves just for these reasons. Would you stay if you play nice and good game, but if you would like to play with friends on server and keep track of records using server manager like Xas, you have to get into coding ? :teub:
My conclusion from what players told me is, that they will happily switch non practical updates like constant changes in GUI or including stuff like that second ingame currency was.

DOCUMENTATION, CONSOLIDATION OF USED TOOLS, WAYS OF USAGE and so on.
This is third and last thing from what i consider biggest flaws of MP. im not sure if it belongs here but lets see.
As a game with so huge mount of available customisation and things to do, maniaplanet has very poor .. almost unusable documentation and too many ways or tools, using of which requieres exactly the same studying like i mentioned above. If it was at least at one repository page , it would be fine even from authors which arent the gamemakers. Who should know better what given function or option does and how to use it than authors ? i give you example which is not explicitly about MP but relates to game >
I`m translator for slovak language, translating of strings is not a problem, all is fine, until you need to find out where the string is, when it is displayed, what is the context or what does it really mean. How could i possiblly translate it exactly, when project manager replies to request for context this way : "WHO KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS?" really ? thats ridiculous.
This situation depicts feelings of frustration and helplesness not only from that cooperation but from whole game too. Another example is Ladder or Ranking.. i am really curious how it works if it has 3 different systems or what.. how is it possible that my ranking can have 3 different values .. depending on where i am ?
i`m not talking about immeadiate syncm but i come back to game after 7-8 hours .. i log in and ranking above server list says one number, i join to server .. there i have different one, and when i look on player page there is a 3rd one. I think if ranking is handled by one fast server it should sync in matter of minutes or lets say half hour (i`m working on webs so i understand that there might be amounts of data, but now when barely 1000 active ppl plays its not that much ).
The last few lines might just mean that i dont understand inner workings of stuff sufficiently, which is probable,
but it might point that overcomplicated, not consolidated , partial jobs which lower the quality of such a great game.

I think this few things could help raise the number of players, what really is what i want. and it was a main reason for me to get involved and help with things. Translations, tutorials, tests, reports .. anything because it makes me sad that such a great game suffered a massive loss of players just because these, IMO not unfixable, flaws.

So i hope cooperation of this huge group of contributors, from coders to translators, third party plugin makers, testers will bring its results and we all together will bring our loved game to the top! Have Fun mates

1) - When a ScriptSetting is changed let a method return the changed value. Now its uncertain if it was changed or not. (Also add a callback to query the #Setting)

2) Competition Manager;

Make it for useable and userfriendly: What happened to maniamatch or maniacup?

3) + Dedicated Manager Tool +
- Make a way inside the Dedicated Manager tool to see if the clublinks of both teams are correct or not. (I have a partial design but not sure if it looks good in the eyes of the team ^^)

- A quick switch between multiple servers with a tab.

4) http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic. ... 03&t=26280

5) Please fix the url: http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic. ... 82&t=28517 (Fixed)

6)

Code: Select all

<times bronze="-1" silver="-1" gold="-1" authortime="-1" authorscore="-1"/>
in the map header for shootmania maps is not really quite usefull.

Ingame by several servercontrollers it is shown to be -0:00.01.

Hopefully can it done in a different way without the -1 as -1 means actually that there is no score. Hopefully it can be done in a way like a way of Achievements in a map.

Something like the way Platform is designed in Trackmania with Objectives.

My wishlist for a wishful team ;)

Well depends what you consider coding, because you don't need to know how to code to start a server. You need to do some configuration thats all. And yes it used to be easier before when we had servermania as a tool to start our servers.

On the same way today if you want a website for exemple you have 2 choice :
- Code html
- get software to generate html
And there is some software that generates manialink so the difficulty stays the same, if you wish something really cool well in both worlds you need to code.

If you wish to have a dynamic website you also have 2 choices
- Code php (or other language)
- Get a CMS
And once more there is a few simple CMS built by the community for players to use. but don't forget that there is millions of people doing html and php while very litle people programing for Trackmania so tools are less complete less everything.

I don't know a lot about blocks but some companies are specialized in software to create 3D stuff you can't expect a company like nadeo to come with a 3D editor that is easy to use and can do all kind of thing it isn't possible. The complexity behind such programs are such that you can't even use them easily.

I agree that some stuff are to complicated. Starting a dedicated server for a title pack for exemple is ridicoulsyl complicated.

And now my wish :roflol:

A title pack contains maps for the title anyway right?

So when starting a server for a title pack why do we need the maps and a match setting file?

Why can't a title pack have a default match settings file included in it? so if you start your server with no match setting it will fallback on that match setting. Later using server controllers you can save a nice match settings. When reading match setting if it doesn't find the map in the maps directory it should also fallback in the title pack and see if it is there.

I know servers is one thing we don't lack in game we have more servers then players or admins :roflol: but still XD
