Re: Next Enviroment?
I've owned United for almost 4 years now. I only play stadium because it's the closest to a good driving model. The other environments are a complete waste of space on my HDD because the cars totally suck and it simply is not fun for me to drive them, not even a little fun. Stadium always annoyed me because I couldn't turn as sharp as I wanted to and I couldn't induce a skid even when I wanted to. The fun of driving is making the car do what I want, not the other way around.EnaiSiaion wrote:Nadeo should have realised just why people who own United mostly play stadium, and done the same thing again.
For me, canyon is what stadium (and all the other United cars) should have been like. I enjoy the "clay track" type of driving instead of the full-traction style. That is how I used to drive as a teenager on gravel roads at suicidal speeds.
Speak for yourself. For many of us this game is not about comparing genitals. I don't really care how much "skill" (by that I mean memorize and repeat) it takes to drive a track. I care how much FUN it is. If you don't like Canyon, don't play it. But to think that every car from now on should be exactly like stadium, just because it was more popular than five other cars at one time, is rather ridiculous.People want a game like stadium: competitive, deep, with a high skill cap
On this I totally agree. The set of blocks they included is crippling. The narrow road pieces are stupid. If I make a mistake driving on wide roads, I've lost time but at least I'm still moving and enjoying myself. If I make a mistake driving on that narrow garbage, the game instantly ceases to be fun, so I refuse to play those tracks at all.and with many versatile blocks.
The fact that there is no block editor is making me consider what else I want to do with my time... I've got many things I wanted to do for tracks, but I've already run out of things I *can* do with the current set of blocks.
Re: Next Enviroment?
I like Canyon much better than the seven previous environments assuming that it will be built upon soon. I can understand peoples frustration with the game in it's current state, but I am under the impression that more content will be added soon. It would be nice though to hear from NADEO what their plans are for updates. If the game stays the way it is I don't think I could justify spending more money on the next addition.

I have got to agree with this. Something has definitely got to be done to improve the game before too many other players/ servers are lostEnaiSiaion wrote:People don't want a new stadium. Canyon is not competitive because it is so random. It is not deep because all you need to do is drift. It has a low skill cap because of the same and because there are very few viable transitions. Blocks mostly don't connect to anything so you need TM Unlimiter to do anything interesting.
Nadeo should have realised just why people who own United mostly play stadium, and done the same thing again.
I'm noticing the exodus from the game myself. My favourite servers are dead, and there is just 1 server with a useful number of players on it. I'm going to quit after the Dec/11 MX MTC competition because I have better things to do than waste my time with a dead game.

I've go to agree with you thereSerpwidgets wrote:The narrow road pieces are stupid. If I make a mistake driving on wide roads, I've lost time but at least I'm still moving and enjoying myself. ...and after all the talk in this thread noone has considered how the servers will work?
You will need one server for each environment. Considering the load of one TM2 server is the same as 3 or 4 TMUF servers that means people/clans will have to pick which environments they want to offer. There are already less TM2 servers just with Canyon so this is going to fragment the number of available servers even more.
*If* it will be possible to run a server with multiple enviroments, then only the people that have *all* of those environments would be able to play on it. With United, when you bought the game, you got all the environments, so it didn't matter if a server was running just one, or mixed enviros. That's not going to work with TM2 though.

Yah, I'd like to see some kind of futuristic environment.

"Realistic" and "Futuristic" are not mutually exclusive. Of course, trying to do both might make the futurism less fun -- but not if it's done well.
I think it would be cool if, for an environment or two, Nadeo could abandon the "surrealism" (realistic places with unreal physics) and just use some "unrealism"
