I know it's not my fault, but I feel bad I didn't test the mediatracker more during the beta and submit more reports on it. There's just so many new things to test in the game.

Although there is no centralised place to report bugs, there are many bugs reported somewhere on ManiaPlanet forum. IMHO there is no point to create new topic - if TM creators made this forum with so many sections and subsections, I think they can control their forum and read about bugs in many places. After all, it's their job. If they can't fix bugs many months after release of "final" version, who expect that they start to fixing bugs only because someone start this topic?

Sorry for the pessimism. I really want to report some bugs, even twice if needed, but I believe that TM coders can read all posts if they want to. And after the deadline of release final version of game was more important that fixing bugs, I believe that we must wait for Nadeo/Ubi response (when they made special place to reporting bugs) instead of trying focus their attention on new topic, which is pointless imho.

got a feeling this topic is useless as well.. Seems the only thing they are working on at the moment is the private facebook type thingie and shootmania. The updates on the engine after game update mostly look like things they stumbled upon while developing shootmania rather than after reading about it in the forums. (and if they take time to read forums, they mostly look at the french one)

I'm sure Hylis reads nearly every thread. It doesn't mean he has time to reply to everything though. I have the feeling that the team reads more of the forum than they respond to. And just because something isn't fixed yet... doesn't mean the team doesn't know the problem exists.

Remember, they're thinking long term over the next 8 environments. They have a lot of time to do all these fixes.

In any case, I'll continue to report stuff. It's easier for me to report something now, when I run across it, than down the road when there's another beta. By then I'll have either accepted it as the way things are, or simply forgot about it.

That's exactly the problem. They should focus on fixing trackmania only problems 1st, as people paid for that one, and after the big bugs are done focus on the stuff that's more overall.
Once they release shootmania (or even start a beta) an overkill of new bugs appear and then, because it's a new title, the focus will be on shootmania for 2-3 months, resulting in a longer wait for the trackmania bugs to be fixed.

sidenote, don't care if Hylis reads stuff or not. Hylis isn't nadeo/ubi, just a foreground person on the huge team. It's communication which is the big problem. Fun fact: nadeo is working on a communication platform ingame but lacks proper communication skills to the community and vice versa.


btw, this is NOT off topic, as it's the biggest bug a game can have.

I care if he reads stuff... as he's responsible for the direction of things. That means he's the one prioritizing things and which things get fixed or implemented first.

Of course we'd all like to hear more from team members of Nadeo about every little thing we ask about. Who wouldn't?

But for me, more than that... I just care that they focus on the issues and work to fix them. I don't know if they'll do that or not, but I trust that they will, as it's in their best interest to make the best games as they possibly can.

We also know that they're developing Valley and Storm separately and concurrently. So if there were to be a delay in the release of SM Storm, it isn't going to hold up the release of TM2 Valley. To me, that also means that bugs and other fixes for TM2 aren't necessarily going to be put off just because Storm is an ongoing concern.

But to be honest, there's not really any bugs that I can't live with, for now.

The game is incredibly fun to play. Perhaps that's because I mostly focus on driving.

The editor and MediaTracker still have their fair share of bugs, but every title of ManiaPlanet will have the editor and MT... so those bugs will have to be fixed sooner or later... for the benefit of all titles.

I look forward to the future with much anticipation.

Nadeo surely has many irons in the fire, but let's let history be their judge as to if it was too many irons.

History already proved they have too many.. Big problem is the fact they don't cast them while they are still hot.

I've known this one for a while, but I don't think I've reported it yet...

When you go to render a replay in the replay editor with tags turned on... the tags do not render above the player's car... instead the tags are stuck in some other location in the map.

Want more? I can add some, but I still suspect, that not even one programmer will read this:

1. "Timespeed" in intro doesn't work (works in editor but not when you exit editor and start map).
2. "CameraRace" not working propertly (i see front of my car instead of clear view from bumper, when select cam3; of course in editor this looks good)
3. "Fx Camera Map" can't work proper because locators for this function can't be added - so function is completely useless (I hope someone fix this for real, not like shadows which are just leave as is and only settings was changed to prevent selecting "none").
4. Split screen - unable to play on different camera, unable to play proper on cam3 (i see front of car instead of bumper view).
5. Unnatural bright level of billboards and not enough light level in self-illuminated blocks (even in TMUF without all that calculating shadows/lightmaps light blocks are better).
6. Some small game freezes (sometimes) while playing.
7. I really can't understand what is difference between beta (can contains bugs because it's testing version) and final version (that contains the same bugs, reported before).
8. Everything is static - not only billboards that can contain only static images, but everything (even in rally in TMUF was animated windmills or falling leaves, on Island was flashing lights and animated standard arrows on Island roads etc.).

i think it solved my problems, anyhow, worth a try
much easyer to fix if that is the right source ;)
