I almost quit United once because of transitional tracks.
The most tracks are still without spammed transitions. Just the top-rated tracks are usually transitional, because they look "wow".

Exactly where my problem appears.
My creative brain comes up with creative ideas, but then I figure out the blocks make it impossible.

THANK YOU. I still don't like online racing so much--but every freakin' track that I've seen in a United server would look better in a platform mode--but it's time attack. <_< TM2 Canyon strips this out, and I think it's a -good- thing...

Pardon my French but this is really one utter bollocks remark. Like I've said about the piano thing in some other post: without the black keys all notes and chords will be used sooner then you can say "transition".

All transitions have been done allready.

Indeed I have quite a vivid imagination but it just doesn't come out without atleast the basic blocks we are used to have in TMUF.

And yes I still think this envi is the best sofar but I'm bored with it and if things don't change within the next month im gonna shove this game somewhere very dark.

I think PapyChampy is from the MTC school (he certainly participated in plenty of them at least. ;)) It's the restrictions placed on the builders during that contest that caused them to think outside the box and find creative solutions to things instead of always thinking it had to be done the same old way. There are things you can do in TM2. I've seen plenty of tracks with crazy ideas and interesting transitions in them. You just have to keep trying different things and think outside the box. That doesn't mean there aren't annoying things in the way. But that's nothing new. Look at bay and island, they had their share of light poles... and yet... people still built interesting tracks.

@ zarexz : Yeah, I can understand that. It's clear that it requires more time/energy to build something satisfying in Canyon, or really innovative, let's say.

As eyebo said, the United MTCs really helped me out with my building approach. It's been basically building with restrictions for years. (Limited blocks/themes)

Not everyone spent that many hours in the game, so Canyon may appear as "flawed" on this subject. It's not really the case. It's just hidden deeper than the other environments.

My only advice for now, unfortunately, as I have no influence on the blocks/design, is "keep trying". Get to know the blocks.

The custom blocks will greatly help in the near future anyways. :)

Cheers

Kinda forgot to continue on that, sorry.

Eyebo partly explained what I meant by that.
In my opinion, Canyon would be a game with less taste if it was only consisted of easily usable blocks.

About the custom blocks integration : of course it's not cancelled. :) However, the first step to get an efficient working basis for them is the release of MP 2.0. The team prefer to focus on this now, in order to get a stronger game platform, so that it can be implemented safely and easily after that.
