It also doesn't make any sense to me that the free mode is time attack, not rounds! I don't even know what to say about it, except that for esports one would really want rounds or cup to be a free mode...

i hope both time attack and rounds will be free. shootmania will have free royal and elite (as far as we know), basically two main modes are free. for trackmania two main modes are time attack and rounds.

LOL! Really? For now all I see is repeating after other players the same phrases about how players that want something for free are bad. If repeating is "making our own minds up" then computer scanner is very smart device.

While I perfectly understand that the new Stadium costs some money, I don't really understand the difference between the free and the paid version.

What do I get when I pay for TM2 Stadium? More single player maps? More options in multiplayer? Is there some side-by-side comparison somewhere?

Finally i think i would've preferred no free version at all (they'll throw me tomatoes for that ^^). Again, players that bring the most content to TM (those who REALLY like the game, create maps, 3D models, skins, objects, mods, scripts, game modes, manage servers or events, drive competitions, run the community websites whithout which the game would be nothing) will pay and contribute to the cost of the development. And again, those who play the game ONLY because it is free and like it ONLY because they can't get better for free will get a generous gift. And because they've been used to ask for free things and get what they ask, they'll even complain because it's not enough. And because nobody says NO to them, they'll be nastier and nastier...

Seriously... They bring nothing. Why shouldn't they simply be ignored? You don't pay, you don't play...

If you don't want to pay, play TMNF with freezone.
If you don't want to pay, play the restricted version of TM2 Stadium.
If you don't want to pay, play TM nations ESWC.

You guys still focus on "hard work" of Nadeo/Ubi etc. I don't really care they work hard or not. I don't pay them for hard working, I pay for a game. And I don't play free version of game but United And Canyon and think they're worth their prices. But stadium is not. I don't like it, I don't buy it but still I have right to write my opinion.

And you still trying to use outdated arguments like "improvements on GFX" even if it was confirmed that gfx doesn't changed. Oh, of course, render engine is different so lights are different... but that's not gfx, that's effects! I expecting new, better, more complex gfx, not the same. That's cheating.

Actually with this open beta, anyone can try it and decide if it's worth to be bought or not.
You think it's not, ok no problem.
Nobody is forcing you to buy it, and you still can play the "free" version if you think it's better than the previous free one.

Nobody is cheated in my opinion, but some people are disapointed because they were excpecting something else.
And some are happy because it's what they expected

I'm not a fan of Stadium but I will be happy to play on it when there will be multi-environment servers and when we will be able to create custom gamemodes on Trackmania games.
So, I will be kind of "forced" to pay for it but I won't do it cheerfully (as I used to do for other Nadeo games).

I already have payed for the Maniaplanet functionalities in Canyon and Storm (editor improvements, maniascript, buddies...).
So when I will buy Stadium, it will only be for the right to play on the Stadium environment (which I already had in United).

Exactly, Akbalder! That's what I was going to write. All that stuff from quoted 2 times "what you get for 10€" list here was already made and even sold with Canyon, and will be in future environments. They put stadium in canyon engine with (oh my!) sky from ShootMania, like Fix from Nadeo said. Nothing new has been created. But yeah, even trying to sell something from nothing can require some work, which in this case, would be putting already made stadium in already made "canyon engine" with already made (again, oh my!) sky from Storm and some cosmetic change of couple of sounds.

But hey! I like the menu music! Not one of the best I've heard for sure, but it doesn't make my ears bleeding. Good job, menu music creator!

I bought/Pre-booked TM2 Stadium same day as it was "released", and gladly paid the requested amount for it.

I also gladly paid for TMUF previously.

Nations as many know it, is history. Nadeo had to end the full, unlimited free version because they could not make enough money to survive. Hence the freezone, but that's another story. As i see it, Nations and Trackmania stopped beeing free from there on and new rules apply. I must also say that it was never announced that TM2 Stadium should be free...

In the end, top game titles today cost around €50 give or take. And thats for one game. The advantage with Maniaplanet as i see it is that you can collect many different titles/games under the same umbrella and basically "choose" your gaming experience. In the end you may end up with 3-5 games for the same price as one other major title. That's not too bad imo.

I would also like to mention the Trackmania/Nadeo community. I feel by buying the game(s) for a symbolic amount (yes, i consider €10 a "symbolic" amount, where i live you can hardly get a large beer for this amount) i am contributing to also keeping the community alive, and that's well worth it as i see it.

Some may think differently and that's fine by me. That's your choice and opinion and you have the right to think for yourself. However, Nadeo now decided to charge €10 for the game so either you pay that or live with a slightly down-scaled version of the game. Or you simply do neither and play other games.

To round it off, from my point of view, 2 statements;
