same question here!
If the pose as one then drifting will be something if a great difficulty (lose way too much speed)
Im also looking to find out how many gears the cars have? I can hear what i think to be 4 pitch changes but unsure if there is a 5th or even a 6th gear

It´s the same as in tmuf, so one axis. This mean you can´t use RT and LT simultaneously. Some beta testers, including me, mentioned this in a thread in the beta forum. To fix this, nadeo must create an own 360 pad driver which is a big effort, so I don´t expect this. But anyway the game is great without that so no need to be sad ;)

I see, well, I could try switching to buttons or find a custom driver. Used to use my PS3 controller until I switched to 64-bit XP

I'm writing a huge article, and want to add some moving footage to show the gameplay.
Now, to prevent me from inventing the wheel again (i never made such a thing) and loose a lot of time making it, i would like to use some of your wonderful movies.
Who of you would be so kind to let me use the movies you made?
I don't want to use youtube stuff without permission of the author, even if that is legally no problem.
Thanks in advance.

Yes this is the gameplay of Canyon.

Long and time saving drifts are possible as well.

The steering has changed completely, it feels more realistic now. But it seems that the steering now fits completely the conditions which is pretty much needed in TM² Canyon, because most turns are really fast and tight. Instead of just stop accelerating and then steering through the turns you also can slide to drive the turn more smoothly and faster.
I swear to God you guys are going to give me a freakin' HEART ATTACK!!!!!!! I am on the verge of losing my MIND after reading all these comments about the car and the drifting physics! OMFG this is crazy! I am all of sudden getting flashbacks of this game:

I can't help but think of OutRun 2 when reading people's comments about how you can control the drifting.

If anyone on this forum has played OutRun 2 before and has played TM2, please add your thoughts on this comparison and tell me if the drifting between the two racers are similar or very different. Because if they are similar and the drifting in TM2 is like OR2, I am going to run down Sunset Blvd doing backflips IN THE NUDE!!!!

This is the type of handling I have wanted in Trackmania since the very FIRST game! So to think Nadeo finally gave it to us has me foaming at the mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice review. But you don't really talk about the handling/physics.

It is far from finished indeed.
Every day i put all my free time in it, and publish what i've written.
The next part will go further into the editor, then i will cover the MT and after that i will cover the gameplay.
I think it will reach more than 5 pages at the end.
Saturday i will leave on vacation, so i will need to finish before that.
Anyone knows a good babysitter?
