Also we deserve hotfixes for god's sake. Not this 'wait a three months for the next update' bullshit.
I agree with everything you said & its a really nice summary. I can easily skip the first 145pages now. Everything is said in your 1 post. Im really waiting for tweaks for this. I can live with falling damage if its less drastic, not on slides, blue pads, jumppads etc & not random on stairs & little bumps in serveral blocks.

I also quoted this part of your text because to me this is music to my ears. If I would say smth like this I would get a lifetime ban, but you, my good friend, are completely spot on. It cant become any more true than what you just said.
( I would like to say that we had hotfixes in the past. )

Great recap Urinstein.

I support the uniform movement system. It should be changable for specific gamemodes (adventure-like modes, movementspeed for sonic mode), but for every serious gamemode it should be universal.

I stand my point, remove any falling damage. Thanks.

If sta damage is buggy indeed, if it is too much, devs will sort it out and fix sonner than later. It is not a big deal anyway. Why don't you do reports in a neurtral manner, there is no need for the drama. Devs and game designers shouldn't do fast development and changes for everyone's immediate wishes. Take it easy.

No, what they should do is thourogly test new features they plan to implement and make sure they actually work before pushing them out.

What they did was push out a feature that is bugged, go on vacation and everyone is left having to play with it untill they get home and get around to doing it. This has been going on for almost 3 years now.

And one shouldn't report this in an upset way? lol, can you say "My tongue is so far in a place the sun don't shine right now"?

If the game was still in alpha/beta stuff like this is tolerable. However the game has been out for s1,5 years. New features is all good an dandy (if they are based on a wish for a certain gameplay, which they never are with Nadeo. They are always silly arbitrary reasons like "We want more realism.. in an arena FPS shooter where you can jump walls, shoot rockets and lasers and all the other non-realistic stuff".) as long as they are stable and working when released.

They rarely are.

And to run off to vacation forcing players to have to deal with it for a long time before it's fixed? That's just nothing more than sheer arrogance and a big FU to the customers. "Hey, the game was working perfectly in this regard now.. so here you go, have a buggy feature that is gonna mess up some stuff and then enjoy it untill after we get home from vacation, ok?"

And you want reports to be neutral? Get real dude.

Sooner than later?
Two months are sooner than later for you?

You just don't understand the problem:
they actually developed the Falling damage so fast and dirty, full of random behaviour, just to fulfill their very own wish of implementing anything, no matter if it was well developed or not. The beta has been closed 17 months ago now.

The fast development and changes anyone wants for now, is to take this feature out, so they can take their time to work on it, before we are left with it for months on end and then implement it again, if people actually want it.

Edit:
sadzealot was faster than me. God I love this guy. :D

You're saying this based on what? facts? no. nothing? yes. And you know that.
As for sadzealot, he is in ignore list, I'd rather not risk my sanity to read his posts.

Well, you're right. I am only assuming that.

The other possibilities include:
- they are just dumb to release buggy features
- they just don't give a shit about how buggy their game is

I can include those possibilities more often, if you think it does Nadeo justice.

But I am pretty darn sure, that they just don't find the time to test their 1000 features before they implement them.
That may be okay with some of them, but not gameplay.

People in the forums have said over and over that they want the game to capitalise on its strengths and refine, rather than adding half baked features all the time.
Even in this thread on the first or second page Wabbitface says, he'd prefer some work to be done on the walljumps and make them even more useful and fun instead of adding another unrefined feature like this.

I am pretty sure the devs don't work long enough of each of these individual features to make them as good as the game deserves, because they are all over the place with each update.

And sadzealot tried to give criticism on the game for months and months, but all he got back was: "well then play another game!"
If I get the same reaction for trying to analyse if the game is getting better or worse, I'll land just as fast on dem ignore lists if I haven't already.

Another possibility is they did test it and didn't discover any bugs. Your findings are valuable. And it has been three weeks after. Maybe this feature is not easily fixed and they need more time to try different parameters. Maybe they work on something related and it would be easier to work on both things together but longer. Maybe key devs for this feature are on vac. Maybe it works as designed after all. Etc, etc. You're worried too soon, imo.

Emotions don't build the feedback. You have to use opportunity to provide useful feedback that might be considered. Devs are not obliged to listen to anyone. Heck, they can abandon the game completely. For example, High-Rez left Tribes Ascend about two years ago in unfinished buggy state, closed official forums, and I'm pretty sure they don't regret it.

Before posting anything regarding Nadeo's performance, imagine yourself being a dev/game designer that has to go through posts in this forum.

Yes, and anyone who has paid attention to High-Rez studios are extremely wary against anything coming from them.

Just like people know that when Nadeo puts a release-date on their game, the actual release-date is 5 years later.
