1 mini update per month. Is that really too much to ask or some sort of weird request? Maybe consider this when TMT is done?
August :
SM :
- Spectator Crosshair centered
- All HUD elements and crosshairs are no longer pixelated when playing on low settings
- Removed borders of the TP for smoother movement
- Fixed some LoD on certain blocks
- Fixed manialink designer crash
TM:
-Whatever
September :
SM :
- Fixed some minor MM bugs
- Removed "DOWNLOAD" button in menu's where it didnt belong
- Added 45° spawns
- Added 45° bluepads
- Display "Calculating AR" instead of incorrect value
- Added some minor improvements to the action maker
TM :
-Whatever
October :
SM :
- Removed random number displaying in the toss
- Fixed dynamic width for map-voting menu in Matchmaking
- Fixed some minor MM bugs
- Added some fence/cage variants
- Added SIGN-GALLERY to map editor
TM :
-Whatever
November : Weapons Update
SM :
- Added a reworked arrow-pad detached from bluepads
- Nerf"ed /buffed arrows
- Added more railpad variants
- Fixed spawning with incorrect weapon in tunnels. You should always spawn with the nucleus now.
TM :
- Whatever
December : Christmas Update : HO HO HO!
SM :
- StormMan Santa Skin
- Change trees with christmas trees
- Change menu-music with jingle bells
- MatchMaking improvements & last bug fixes
- Special NADEO Baguette HOHOHO Horn
- New Year competition : Finish #1 on the rankings on 31/12 and win a badge.
TM :
-Change trees with christmas trees
-Release a Santa Car Skin
-Whatever
January : TOOL UPDATE
- Released ManiaPlanet built-in IRC client for easy communication and pracc-finding
- Action Maker can now build more weapons
- Multiplayer MapEditor
- HUD is finnaly displayed in Replays
- ManiaFlash redesign
February :
SM :
- Official Tutorials to welcome new players
TM :
-Whatever
Etc... Is that really so bad?
Or even do it every 2months so you can support 1month of TM and 1month of SM. Or even change focus every 3months. 3months for TM. 3months for SM... But waiting yeaaaaaaars when your game isn't doing good is a véry bad move.
Who in the entire world wouldnt like this? Nobody I guess.

Great idea
Nice you did not forget TM.
Unfortunately the first two months are already overdue

delay by >2 months now.
Let's forget about this year, and do a good planning for next year

Tmarc

obviously it was only an example. It's just an illustration of what could be a beautiful thing

I've been reading loads of posts on the forums and people are getting less and less positive and are crying for frequent updates. I hope NADEO changes its infrastructure to make these frequent updates possible sooner or later (pls not later).

yeah I observed that, too. it's a pity (somehow the whole situation)

A while ago you or someone else had the idea of a development branch and a stable branch - with the beta setting on the player page we already have something like that.
The current updater system already allows, the only thing is: they don't do updates too often except when it's beta time.
In total, we need indeed more & better communication, and some more updates.

Well, it's partially there, because server hosters can download game modes from Nadeo's GitHub test branch:
https://github.com/maniaplanet/game-modes/tree/Test
Of course there are only minor changes and fixes, but something larger in future would be welcome for most users.
Btw, we use test branch scripts on Pursuit server.

Valley had attracted people for some time, and a new title will attract again people.
I'm sure Nadeo is surprised and disappointed as well that Valley never had the "success" of Canyon or Stadium.
If the next title is good and "better than Valley", more people will stay.
releasing Shootmania, Stadium and Valley in the same year was really REALLY bad idea, saturating the market with games is never a good idea.

That's right, but then you nearly cannot release anything because of the competitors.
Actually it always ends up in at least two parties doing similar things.
Besides this, ShootMania does not really compete with TrackMania.
Some TrackManiacs just looked for some time at ShootMania, some even switched, but it is probably not the majority.

I honestely believe I suggested a good solution in my previous post. That's how it should be.
Find a way to make frequent updates possible ( infrastructure, planning & with the team )
Work 1/2months on TM --- UPDATE
Work 1/2months on SM --- UPDATE
Work 1/2months on TM --- UPDATE
Work 1/2months on SM --- UPDATE
And hotfixes should be easy to do
- Change the splash damage of a weapon
- Fix a crosshair
- Modify a block
- Fix a crash
-...
In the meanwhile you keep the community patient by showing the stupidest & smallest teaser/puzzle or some awesome screens, sreen captures, interviews or blogposts....
For example :
Hello Planet# should not be a yearly thing...
