It's a very fun gamemode indeed, It requires teamwork in a different way than before, you have to think about how you drive, trying to maintain as much speed as possible while allowing the person pass you.
It would also be nice if for people who don't have fast internet, that there aren't 2 loading screens one after the other, one before the map choice and one after it. can't the map choice be done in the lobby?

I confirm this bug. If the gap between two players is lower than ~10ms then the mode can select the wrong player as the first/last one. It's a tricky problem because we have to find a good balance between enjoyment and equity. It's kind of sad to be forced into spectator because a player of the other team left the game. Moreover it would be hard to select which player should be forced into spectator. At first we paused the game when a player left the match but it was also annoying. The best solution would be of course that players simply don't leave a match. For now Trackmania players don't know well how the matchmaking and the game mode work, this encourage a lot of them to leave. In a few days I think that the situation should be better. And if it's still a "leave fest" then we'll have to find a way to discourage people to leave, the penalty system being one of the options. A part of the 2vs3 problem is also caused by a bug on the lobby server that we are investigating and hope to fix soon.official.nando wrote:Would it be possible in the progessive mode to avoid a 2 vs 3 situation?

It's my biggest complaint with SM-Matchmaking : People leave 24/7
The only reason why this isnt happening in other games is because there they have penalties of 30min to 1 week.
So to avoid 2v3 situations I would just do that

When I freeze, I don't want a penaltie of 1 day
When my connection is bad, I don't want a penaltie of 1 day
When I'm kicked by a votekick, I don't want a penaltie of 1 day.

The penalties can be progressive
If a player has got a problem 1 time, no penalties. If he leave 2 times a week the game, then he has 5 minutes of penalties, etc...
1 error : No penalties
2 errors : 5 minutes
3 errors : 1hour
4 errors : 1 day
5 errors : 1 week

Maybe the penalty should be linked to the "exit game" button?
