And good for us that Island turned out to be a great gamepad env. :) I'm always laugh when someone says "I choose keyboard" or "I have keyboard". First - keyboard is not a choice, it's device that you already have connected to your computer. If you have no gamepad then you have no choice - you must use what you have. Second - I have keyboard too. :) But using it only for chat ingame. :)Cibermix wrote:Hylis designed Island to be the best keyboard-friendly environment at first, but the effect was the opposite

i know, i just wanted to say that all the first 6 environment's are bad for keyboard, i was going to edit that post later but i'll just say it here.Cibermix wrote:Sure, I didn't say the oppositeall the original and sunrise environment's aren't keyboard friendly at all.Cibermix a écrit:
It's not 100% true because Hylis designed Island to be the best keyboard-friendly environment at first
Hylis designed Island to be the best keyboard-friendly environment at first, but the effect was the opposite
their turn is too sharp and punish the player at higher speeds, stadium aside all the united environment's feels like they are made for a gamepad which is a really weird decision for a pc exclusive. tapping the keyboard arrows all the time just feels awful in comparison to a analog stick.
why the hell Hylis would say it's made for keyboard when it's clearly not i have no idea
they are just defending they device of "choice" like a fanboy, just like those moronic keyboard vs controller topics on the internetrat_in_car wrote:And good for us that Island turned out to be a great gamepad env.Cibermix wrote:Hylis designed Island to be the best keyboard-friendly environment at first, but the effect was the oppositeI'm always laugh when someone says "I choose keyboard" or "I have keyboard". I play all the games with my pad, ranging from Trackmania, trough RPG games to shooters like CoD. And it's pure bulls***t, that there's a difference, that one outruns another. Of course, you can't noslide with your keyboard, but how many noslide maps are there? My currently held record on one of the islanders was pushed purely with my keyboard, long time before I did the thing that was buying a pad. As a matter of fact, I reached 3rd spot in Island in World ranking, while still being a keyboarder. Doesn't it say anything? Oh, of course, I could say I didn't get the first place because I didn't have the pad, but that's only an excuse
. Besides, if you're able to throw off those fifty bucks for your game, why don't you just go ahead and throw in another 30 bucks for a pad?

Everyone can mastering keyboard, that's for sure. But people do not want to learn, they want to play good from start. :) That's why programmers gives them easy slow steering without tapping and now even noslide at fullspeed. :)
Re: [BUG] Lagoon wood loops are totally random
I don't really like the "you already paid 50, so pay another 30"
I mean, yes I already paid for something, I don't want to pay for something else. TM is not a "pay to play", it's a large audiance game, that even bad employees play at secretly at work.
In console everybody is already on an equal point : all pads, no distinction.
In PC everybody has an equal point : all keyboards, no disctinction. At the moment that some environments are almost impossible to play with keyboard (island, rally..MP envis are pretty much okay), then it becomes inequal.
You don't know, maybe some people cannot afford buying a pad... Maybe you laugh at this, but it's reality, we must show some respect.

It's not impossible to play in general, it's a personal decision (out of a choice) and a matter of practise.
But let's get back to the original topic please.

Re: [BUG] Lagoon wood loops are totally random
You practice how much you want on island (I did on kb), getting a pad will get you a +95 skill.
You know what, I know something since I played Island with keyboard during like one year. Shitty times, shitty skills.
I took an old PS3 pad, with horrible analogs. I beat ALL my PB on every map, at the second or third try. Then I earned maybe 1 000 000 SP on Island Nadeo maps within 5 months.
Island is not a matter of practice, not for me at least.

Every competitive maps are noslide. I don't know what kind of maps you're playing on or against who, but there are a lot of people playing with an analogic controller (gamepad, joystick, wheel) who can crush anyone playing with a keyboard, you included.FTRast wrote:I play all the games with my pad, ranging from Trackmania, trough RPG games to shooters like CoD. I also quoted the fact you're playing FPS with a gamepad (though it's CoD), but it doesn't need any further comment.

yes, this is what the entire Snow environment was aboutacceleracer_01 wrote:You are contradicting yourself. this is not true, Desert is good for keyboard and some of the best Desert drivers used keyboard.disposableaccount wrote: i know, i just wanted to say that all the first 6 environment's are bad for keyboard, i was going to edit that post later but i'll just say it here.

Now stop this endless discussion about what is better and what not here, in terms of controller.
We have had this already often enough and this is not the right topic for that, there are enough other controller related topics in the forum.
