Totally agree with you, best comment here.Knutselmaaster wrote:Well, i think most of you guy's are turning it around.
You say "the American public wants ingame footage", why would they want something, as they don't even know the game?
I think the trailer has more effect on people that never seen or heard of the game, as it gives global impressions, a lot of fast paced action, the editor, and an overview of the graphics.
Just a car on a track (even if it is with a looping) would make it look like "just another racing game" to ignorant people.
The ones that want to see game play video's is ourselves, because we know the game, have seen the other trailers etc.
I agree that it was short compared with other presentations, that is too bad.
The other games already have millions of copies sold and are eagerly expected by the public, Ubi knows that they are going to sell hundred million copies of it, hence the longer presentations.
But to show the game to people that never heard of it, and taking the time that was given to do it, this was really the better way imo.

Every frame was saved out to png files and then I sorted through all 2000+ of them. I tried to get the sharpest image of every scene. Sometimes I opted for several of each scene so you could see the progression of blocks and get an idea what each block would be for that part of the track.
+1. Now you can see how b-e-a-uitiful game it really is.eyebo wrote:Somehow I feel like I should spam this link over here too.

fng_thatoneguy wrote:The engine sounds are wicked awesome; especially when the red car is drifting past the other two on That One Curve.
Sorry about that.tcq wrote:The engine sound was pretty awesome
at least, we are now part of this familyfng_thatoneguy wrote: Like other games at E3 this year, the graphics and the sounds of trackmania2 is just incredible!!

But the gameplay is one of the most important thigs a new player would like to know, before buying a game!
It like sell to a new player (on this kind of game) bf3 or Mw3 without show the gameplay. It's going to be a first person shooter? Or third person shooter?
To answer that.dejavu wrote: I expected:
-See florent on the theater
-A game play video, like ubisoft did with all the games he presented .. Why no gameplay video of tm2? bah..
-Something more about maniaplanet.. what's going to be?
-Tell how already big is the comunity and world around trackmania, and not just "10'000'000 of players"

Im disappointed, but just about the presentation and not about the game
In fact, I think there will be right from E3. People will probably film it from the booth. So, I would expect gameplay videos to pop up on some websites.Lmb-willy wrote:On the dreamhack we become a Lot of ingame footage;)
fng_thatoneguy wrote:I hope it was enough to get the press excited enough about it to start covering it in the USA gaming media.
And hopefully Ubi will give NADEO more time next time so it's not overshadowed by the other games.
eyebo wrote:+1. You hit the nail on the head as far as how I felt when watching the presentation. Maybe they did the best they could with the time they were allotted. But I really hoped for more.

But I also recognize that this presentation was basically welcoming the attendees and giving them a sneak peak of what is going to be at the various booths. We're not there at E3, so this is all we see... so sometimes it's hard to understand that this is just a small snippet of what the attendees will be seeing of Canyon. They'll get a much closer look and the chance to get really excited about it when they visit the booth.... I hope.![]()
