funny to see the all moderators are big on off topic postings, whatever :pop: :mrgreen:

versions 2.0? lol, is this a new trend?
it the past the most software comapny makes 0.00.x or 0.0x or maybe 0.x on little changes and bug fixes.
this means this updates are free.
the x.0 update brings really new and independent features and mostly not for free.
of course I think not thet the new versions´ll bring something new stuff thet was not predicted to the release!
so the 2.0 will bring maybe all stuff thet was predicted for 1.0 release.!?!.
In my opinion the next logical step would be 1.1, but if it´s going to be 2.0,
I think it´ll be something fascinating in it like in the last new versions of Firefox :roflol:

I hope nadeo makes something else to surprise not only me.

at last I would like to ask something.
is there any official rules for market economy to say when software can be sold?
something like funktions/bugs ratio?

p.s.: WIKI >> :clap:

For make simple, we have actually only TM²: Canyon and not really ManiaPlanet. And with ManiaPlanet 2.0, we will have ManiaPlanet with TM²: Canyon.

We will have many new things with ManiaPlanet, maybe not all with 2.0, but after.

I am surprised that nobody tell about the bug on lap mode.
When you play, you don't see the other players who are behind you, (below on the right on the screen, rank of the track ), you only see those who are in front of you. There had been this bug also in Trackmania, before it was corrected.

Are there any plans on releasing an update for the dedicated server any time soon..? It's been over 3 months since the games launch, and nearly 3 months since any acknowledgement from a Nadeo employee.. and we still have a barely-functional resource hogging-mess..

It was forgivable enough in TMF, but it's hard convincing players to purchase the new game when I can't really tell them that TM2 is anywhere close to being entirely 'ready'. Not to mention, I'm purchasing a new hosting plan in the next few days, and really need to know whether I'm going to have to spend all of my money on RAM, lacking any fix to the linux dedicated server software.

Nothing..? Come on guys...

I still remember the days when TM had a vibrant community.. dozens of useful sites, always teeming with relevant and up to date info. It always seemed like somebody from the incredibly small Nadeo team was always there to help (alongside dozens of knowledgeable regulars) -- not just an intern or a moderator with a god complex.. Hell, even game server hosting companies won't touch TM with a ten foot pole anymore.

Sure, as much as I love to mention how you guys ruined everything with the freezone fiasco, either because you simply couldn't come up with a better answer or just didn't check the mail for 3 months after MS notified you that their ad service was shutting down -- I think it goes a bit deeper than that. Mostly, just giving off the feeling that you don't really care. At first (in TM2) we at least got the notion that all these problems would eventually be fixed, but months and months go by without even the slightest acknowledgement of anyone at Nadeo of any consequence.

I could say that none of that even matters as long as the players are there, but that's hardly the case.. Sure, the die-hards I know couldn't help but buy TM2 at the first chance, but even they turned to more 'professionally-produced' games after it became obvious the TM2:Canyon was merely a fifth of a game that would receive no support after it's release (more accurately, after it's public beta release). The hundreds of regs who used to frequent my servers prior to FZ (all of whom owned TMUF only for the distinction of using TMNF freely), just simply didn't bother migrating to TM2. I can gaze upon the multitudes of empty servers and make my own assumptions, but I'm sure you guys can tell better than I on your own end.

I'd like to hope that you guys may notice eventually, but it seems like the only concern is pumping out SM:Storm before the coffers run dry (tackling FPS's.. you guys really are crazy). I just hope we can save TM before it's too late.

Before launching the MP dedicated server, did Nadeo ever consider fixing up the spelling of the SMapInfo struct environment member? There's also a member that needs a capitalisation (for documentation purposes). These two problems seem to have been present in older versions of the API and documentation too. So it's an issue dating back as far as whenever. I'm sure someone else already brought it up awhile ago. But what the hell, let's bring it up again. :P

Code: Select all

	struct SMapInfo
	{
		string Uid; // The 'i' should be a capital I.
		string Name;
		string FileName;
		string Author;
		string Environnement; // Should be in English.
		string Mood;
		int BronzeTime;
		int SilverTime;
		int GoldTime;
		int AuthorTime;
		int CopperPrice;
		bool LapRace;
		int NbLaps;
		int NbCheckpoints;
	}
Two things that frustrated me to hell before I found the answers. I know it's too late to change it, but I don't know why it wasn't fixed in the first place. :?

Well, ya... a few french words have been stuck in there for ages (somebody always brings it up every few months, going back to TMN), and the capitalization is a mixed bag (personally I'd prefer the server to not take character case into account at all).

There's much more baffling decisions, though.. such as needing to run both GetPlayerInfo and GetDetailedPlayerInfo in order to get the entirety of the player infos, where it'd seem obvious that the detailed query should give all infos..

I can forgive all of those inconsistencies, though.. if we had a stable and complete dedicated server.

Let me give you a tip, I would not spend money in trackmania hosting anymore. At least not in larger dimensions.You can never trust nadeo anymore after the freezone debacle. I´ve spent a lot of time and work into our server company and our clan and at the climax we had more than 100 leased servers and a sponsor who paid more than 200 euros every month. And then ? Nadeo is coming with the fu**ing freezone and I lost over a thousand euro. So, all I wanted to say is that I lost my trust in nadeo and as I already said above, you should be very carefully by spending money into trackmania hosting^^

best regards, Jojo
