That article claims that driving community tracks costs planets.
I hope not... :? :|

Maybe it's like in Trackmania United, that you can buy the tracks ingame(like manialink), when you want to play them offline, but on servers you can play them for free. And I think you will also be able to download TM2 tracks from TMX.

I'm glad, that Hylis is saying a lot of good things about TM2, about us, the community and he even mentioned about ManiaLive and also why TM2 isn't on console yet - he just give us some information.

Btw, Hylis is speaking even nice in English. :)

Hylis FTW :D Actually getting to hear him explain things and what his plan was for Maniaplanet, it's really sweet. :D So, conceivably, even me, with my not-so-good tracks and maps :P could set up a server with only my maps on it and then push it to the top where it at least gets -some- publicity. LOL

Nadeo, have you thought about how the car will skid in the turns?

I thought at this : turn, press the brake and skid, Split/Second drift style...

Every proposition is good, but the question is: did they actually finished making handling and just correcting some bugs or making compilations for the game (here; beta tests)?

This is the burning question I hope Hylis will address very soon. I am DYING to know how we will be able to drift the cars, and what characteristics will the drifting resemble? Will they resemble the drifting characteristics from:

A)Ridge Racer?
B)OutRun 2?
C)Daytona USA?
D)Sega Rally Championship?
E)Race Driver: GRID?
F)Dirt 2?

....Or a combination of all of the above?

I personally would love to feel drifting characteristics from Daytona USA and Ridge Racer if possible. Florett mentioned a long time ago that he is a big fan of the Ridge Racer games, so I'm hoping he will allow this Canyon car to deliver those kinds of physics as a tribute to fans :)

Well I guess we'll see what happens :)

And those wheel-skills are put to good use when we visit Nadeo to see not only TrackMania 2: Canyon, but also the studio's first steps into the FPS and RPG genres, ShootMania: Storm and QuestMania.
Subscribers have got the mag and it will be on shelves May 10th.

I think we have to stop comparing, searching what TM2 will look like.

It's just gonna be a NEW thing, nadeo wasn't like "ok, let's take 20% of stadium, 29% of Ridge Racer etc... and shake that" They just created a new gameplay, maybe it will be more or less close to some existing gameplays but not comparable.
