That's very nice from wiidesire and Hylis for asking about the rest of the modes. Finally I think, that we fight for our rights. :) and have a word, but what's better: Hylis is patiently listening to us, which we should really appreciate. I also think some of the modes from TM should be back - as wiid said, they "increased the fun", which is right. I think, that if Hylis could give his all strength, he could make a fun & realistic game in one. This is what should be for us.

I see wiid you know combinatorics, nice job with the counting, but we should exclude the width, height, so it should be:
500!=~304*10^52=~30400000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 combinations.

Don't forget, that you can use a block more than once. So you'd have even more possibilities :D

A nice solution could be the following (idea from !mpac ;) ):

Give the community a tool to build new blocks (or show them how to built them with existing tools). Then the community can send in their new blocks to Nadeo and you can prove and select the best blocks. After that you can give a "New Blocks Update" every 3 month for example to the community. ;)

How would block developers test their blocks? They'd have to somehow implement them in-game. And if that's already open then it wouldn't be a very big step for everyone to then use those blocks. It seems like a gaping hole in the system to me.

I'm sure there's ways to do it though. Apple does it with their App Store. They keep things locked down and only approved apps are allowed in the store. I guess this is a similar idea to that.

Actually it's a good idea to keep the custom block amount low and clear. Also you won't need to download many custom blocks for every map.
But on the other hand it would make it harder for authors, who want to build crazy maps with tons of custom blocks (RPG/trial-maps maybe..), if they had to send every block to nadeo and wait for their acceptance...
