Sometimes i needed unlimiter but the challenge is to make a good track without it
unlimiter is best to put out some extra signs that is impossible otherwise and sometimes
road that looks like they should work but they don´t, doesn´t really matter to me but if
you have one make a on and off switch for unlimiter in editor so we can continue build
without it we want to.

Let us select if we need a scissor, or not :D
idea started after this question ^^
really a server that allow me to submit my tracks ? is it free eyebo ?

about that, maybe nadeo should have a few servers like this

continue here if you like to see my idea and talk about it

There is no bad track, i personally saw many, in mine opinion, bad tracks played(made) by many people. And you know what they don't play(make) bad maps, they just have different points of view and different tastes then mine.
If there was not tools like rixmix, CE, Unlimiter i would quit trackamania long time ago.
I never liked how limiting editor was, and unlimiter is good in the way that it lets you actually be creative beyond editors limitations.

Creator of unlimiter had no responsibility what kind of track his tool could produce, or how stable the map will be in game. Having nadeo do it is completely other thing.

I personally don't see any negative side in having more advanced editor, but having editor without limitations i wouldn't want.

On the other hand are custom objects, if they had same properties as standard blocks(connect-able, z axes, able to draw row while holding mouse, light sources, animated textures, transparent textures), and if they were somehow better supported online, they could replace unlimiter completely.

Just my 2 cents.

I cant believe this is even a point of discussion. I swear Nadeo want this game to die. They must.
I have seen over the years a constant battle from the players of this game with Nadeo over every bloody change made. Why?

I really have to wonder if ANYONE at Nadeo actually plays Stadium? I don't mean plays it because its work related, but actually plays it daily, like WE do?
Don't want a block mixer because of bad tracks? Is this a joke? It is the PLAYERS who decide if a track is good or bad REGARDLESS of blockmixing or not. I have played MANY maps WITHOUT block mixing that are horrible and guess what, no one plays them.

Maps become popular for many many reasons, and I have played MORE blockmixed maps that were fantastic to play than not. It is one of the joys of operating a server. Going to MX and searching out the new maps to try for your server. Does anyone at Nadeo even understand this? Does anyone at Nadeo search MX for maps to upload on server for clan members and guests to play? Are the people at Nadeo even a part of the community? Sounds crazy I know, but I swear when I read half the comments reps from Nadeo make, I have to ask the question because I don't see it at all ...

And the saddest thing is THEY are the developers!

I'll spell it out nice and simple - no blockmixing tool makes map making BORING! Its restrictive and LIMITS creativity. I guess its too much to understand why the tool was named UNLIMITER? o.O

This is what I can never understand about Nadeo. You have a very large community, yet at every turn you seldom listen and give them what they want. How long did the community ask for Stadium2? How long? I seen the posts from Nadeo, I read all the replies. You didn't listen and what happened to Canyon? STILL not as popular as Stadium yes?

I have been to many forums, many clans pages and so on, many many people LOVE blockmixing. So here we are again and will Nadeo give the PLAYERS what they want? I am very sad to say probably not, which even more sad seems to be the normal way Nadeo treats its customers ...

I don't care for excuses from Nadeo. Give the players what they ask for and let the PLAYERS decide what they want. If it is to be successful it will be the PLAYERS who decide! Why always these excuses, always these battles with Nadeo when its the PLAYERS asking for something? Do you hate us? Do you wish we would just do everything YOUR WAY?

Here's a tip for you - communities don't work like that, dictatorships do!

I guess you didn't read the comments from Hylis in this topic where he talks about implementing some form of unlimiter in the future.

If you read my comments, just know that I am a player just like you are and a server owner. I've played thousands of maps in TM1 and thousands more in TM2 and I speak as a member of the community, not as a moderator here. My thoughts are my own, and I do not represent Nadeo in my opinions about Unlimiter.

You're dramatically mixing up things here
Only because YOU don't get what YOU want, Nadeo is behaving bad?
Here is a tip for you: Regarding "Dictatorship", you better look up a dictionary, what this really means and what that has caused in the past, and is still causing now.
And now please keep out any political discussion out of this forum, thank you.

You forget that it is not the community which is developping ManiaPlanet, but Nadeo,
and they deserve very well the right and the priviledge to develop the things they want and how they want to have it.

Useless to repeat that many other game developpers don't respond to the community as Nadeo is doing.
In fact they are doing much more than you obviously want to see here ;)

The Unlimiter Tool is certainly opening existing barriers.
But Nadeo want to have ManiaPlanet games accessible for everyone, and they don't want that right from the start "malformed" tracks get released with weird block positioned in the middle of the roads. Because Maniaplanet beginners would be totally confused and very soon bored because they can't drive the tracks.
It is a tradeoff between easy handling and complexity of the tracks.
Thats why unlimiter should only be used by those who know how to deal with it.

I'm sure Nadeo is happy about the diversity, but they want to control it, at least with what they are doing.
If someone releases a new Unlimiter Tool, they accept it, but you also have to accept they can't give much support for tracks causing issues.
E.g. the flickering textures comes from superposed polygons of different blocks at the same place.
You can't blame Nadeo for that since an unofficial tool was used.

Shame on you! You should never use a word like dictatorship if you're not sure it is relevant: it has an heavy meaning and shouldn't be banalized. When you compare anything that depleases you with a dictatorship, you implicitly say a dictatorship is after all not that more serious that any inconvenience of the normal life. People who have really to put up with a dictatorship will appreciate... Please think twice before to use a word in such a way that you destroy its meaning, or read Mr. Orwell.

Through your highly questionnable agumentation, you are actually trying to force Nadeo to make something for you while ignoring they are free to include what they want and to exlude what they don't want in their products. And this kind of behaviour is getting more than annoying whithin the community. People not only harass Nadeo this way, but as well the players who create free contents and are often blamed for not doing enough/not doing well/not doing the way one expect. You should be aware that this kind of behaviour is slowly discourageing everybody. Although i don't know the true reasons that might lead arc to temporarily give up with unlimiter, it might be one of them... And since it seems you are one of those stadium supporters, i hope you at least bought the game (who could decently complain about something one got for free)?

Thanks for being a bit more respectful and please don't call dictators persons who don't deserve this. They'll return your fairness.

(And i'm not from Nadeo)

Well said Romain. :1010

As far as I know, arc_ wasn't even a serious TM player before he made unlimiter, but he was made aware of the challenge of creating an Unlimiter tool for the editor by some friends, and thus set about making it. The fact he kept updating it for so long really was a kindness to the community, especially for someone who was perhaps never a serious TM player/builder to begin with.

btw. as I know arc is still not a serious tm player since he made unlimiter.
he just have it to develope.
I think it would be possible to get him for the last update of unlimiter, if maniaplanet is in final version with no expected update for a long time!
well, who knows if and when it would be possible....
