I'm a bit surprised by all the negative feedback.
A console version puts Boxes in stores. Boxes in stores are seen by people and where I live I have never seen anything TM advertised or in a box in a store so I think this will bring in more players just because more people will know it exists.
TM is still a very unique gaming concept and I love it. I think Turbo is a bold move but I think it will generate more players in the long run.
I'm looking forward to Lagoon in MP but would like to see TMUF and Turbo in the future become part of MP. Yes, I know they have different engines but they could still be launched and played from MP someday.

I don't understand why it's always negative when people are not going "Yeeehhh! I really like this.".
I find that there are valid complaints about what's going on and people should be allowed to voice this without being put away as 'negative' and not important ...

I would describe myself as realistic and not negative. I would describe your last post as overly positive (being sure that there will be more players) and unrealistic (the putting everything in one platform). It is great that there will be boxes in stores, but they should've kept it too that (in my opinion) and not bring it to PC as well, as it devides the PC community over more platforms...

But, feel free to be euphoric about the changes, you're free to express yourself that way, just like others are free to express themselves concerned/realistic.

With all respect, Ben, but /r/gaming is a cesspool and the worst example to "interpret" something in it here.

I think that having Trackmania 2 divided in multiple games is a big reason why there isn't much players on each environment.
The player has to make the decision to buy for each game (even some Trackmania fans don't have all the games...).
So having only one game containing all the environments is great.

In theory, there should be -25% reduction for each already owned environment but I guess that it's not the logic that you will use to decide of the price of Trackmania Turbo...

If there is as much modding as there is in United, it's great. I don't think that we need title packs. It's too complicated compared to what it brings.

Personally, I still don't see what the point of Maniaplanet (mixing Trackmania and Shootmania is useless, title packs confuse and separate the players). I hope that Trackmania Turbo will have a long life far from Maniaplanet.

If mp lagoon gets released on the same day as tmt, I'd be happy. :thx:

Otherwise I'm paying ~40€ for a game that I already own 3/4 of and that I'll stop playing once the last 1/4 comes out on mp. :teub:

@Hylis :
91 comments - 5 positive, 86 realistic.

To me the announcement/E3 = EPIC
Hello Planet = BAD

Everything is too confusing. Console Players arent waiting 2years... We , PC players were waiting 2 years... Why not give us priority? You told me "2015 is the year of TM"... but you moved it to 2016 and its actually not quite big ( read : its a lot of work, but for MP-players its not that big of a change )

Cant you explain why it is GOOD to do it like you did?
Can you explain why you didnt update MP and unite everything ( like most players asked for)

Only then people will start to appreciate your work. I wanna understand better :)

Euphoric? Hardly. Happy to see something new? Yes.
I agree there are valid complaints, and not just a few. I'm not knocking that, I'm just a little surprised that very few have anything good to say about the work that's been done. Yes I did say there was a lot of negative feedback but Never that it was not important! Please don't twist what I say.

Your post came over to me like that, prompting me to post the reply.
I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your post and thus somehow twisted your post.

I think the reason for the 'much "negative" feedback, not much appreciation' is that people see TrackMania moving into a direction they are not liking ...

I am excited about TM:Turbo, I think it looks great and it might bring more players.
It's just that TM2 should've been like this and not stuck in ManiaPlanet with all it's titlepacks and community division ...
