it's really a mess, but as long as there is no universal game platform which is also accepted and used by all game creators and distributors, we will either have to install all systems (I did... I have Steam, Uplay and Origin, but I don't launch them in autosart, only when needed).

Or make the decision not to have some games, but isn't that some kind of sad mortification? ;)

Installed Steam once a few years ago, never spend any money on it and if a game comes out that forces you to play on a respective platform, then let it be. There are many awesome games/companies that don't try to boss around users in what to do/install, so there is choice for everyone and that's not sad, but a nice thing :D

I am in a minority that only plays games offline. My gaming pc is not connected to the internet except when I have to activate or update and never will be. This allows me to optimize my gaming pc for better speed and keeps it clean without having to run protection software. Any third party launcher that requires me to connect every time I want to play a game is simply not acceptable to me. I know there is a new generation of gamers that don't mind this and that's fine for them, but as much as I love gaming I will simply stop buying new games before I give in to this. To me it's not "nice" nor is it "sad", it's just the way it is.
To be clear, I'm not trying to tell anyone not to use Uplay or Steam, just stating why I will not.

Uplay has an offline mode (and Turbo doesn't need to be online to run).

Oh. Thanks Cerovan for that info. That changes my mind then. Everything I've tried to install and play before with Uplay would not let me stay offline. Still not fond of having to give out more personal information to play a game but I'll check it out. I've played everything else from Nadeo back to Virtual Skipper and love the creative way you guys do stuff.
Thanks again for clarifying that for me.

1. Are there gonna be blocks wich you can use in every environment ?
2. I there gonna be envi-mix ?
3. Will there be blocks for Canyon/Stadium/Valley with new gameplay elements ?
4. Is the solo ranking system the same for the 3 different platforms ?
5. Will there be a ranking system for online maps ( with best times from all platforms ) ?
6. If there's an ingame map exchanging platform will I be able to upload my map ( on pc )
while console players can download them also ?

Be answered later (will be anyway plateform specific).

I don't think so.

that's a flawed logic, why it needs to be steam AND uplay and not both separate? and why it has to have the 3 platforms mentioned but not a GOG and DRM free Humble Bundle version? just say you guys work for Ubisoft and that's what you gotta do because it makes sense

it's interesting to think about it, whenever Nadeo has really the option of releasing TMT without Uplay or not, Ubisoft does release some games without it

We can't release our games on GOG (simply because we ask to create a game account (Maniaplanet or Steam or Uplay, depending of the plateform) to be able to use them)

You answer yourself to the question.

then don't? a guest profile for offline play would be nice, wish maniaplanet had that

so TMT will have a Uplay drm on top of Steam drm just for the lolz? if Nadeo has full control then what's the point in stacking drm like that? what's the need for a staem drm at all? it does nothing to stop piracy just look at TMU
